He turned around usm before leaving for Tampa. Very impressive what he has done with Georgia’s offense.

Half the rant could win the broyles award with UGA's talent on offense.

He inherited an 0-12 team and got them to 9-5 in three seasons.

He's an incredible offensive play caller especially navigating Kirbys yellow mouthed arse. He's the reason they won the title last year.

I’d assume not long.

Les not making him the OC when Jimbo left was such a missed opportunity.

Fans freaked at the possibility of him hiring within back then

Would be a good fit for Purdue.

So would Willie Fritz.

Les wanted to make Monken (his WR coach and passing game coordinator) the OC when Jimbo left, the powers that be balked at the notion; hence the hiring of the Wizard and the departure of Monken to Jacksonville.

I don’t know what circles you ran in but we all loved him and would have been fine making him the OC.

He’s been a head coach, and some guys just do better with coordinator roles than they do as head coach (ie, Josh McD and like 1,000 other guys)

I wanted him to take over for Les. He was working magic trying to revive Southern Miss.

I’ve heard he doesn’t want to. If he jumps he will go for a NFL job. That’s my speculation.

Side note: Monken was cleaning up the mess that Larry Fedora was leaving behind. Fedora had no plans to stay beyond that season he won a CUSA title. Ellis Johnson wasn't a good coach, but Fedora left him nothing at all. Fedora had the same issue at North Carolina. He fell off a cliff because he was hellbent on leaving North Carolina. And had to stick his foot in his mouth when no one offered him.

Monken does little to no recruiting at all in Athens. He has total control of the offense. He also dislikes the booster shilling he'd have to do as a college HC.

As far as the NFL is concerned, they are skewing younger at that position, so I think it's unlikely he'll get a job there.

Monken is the highest paid coordinator in college football. There is also allegedly a major multi-year extension on his desk for upwards of $4 million annually awaiting his signature. His wife has made it known she's tired of moving and LOVES Athens.

He may move, but I don't think it will be soon.
