He would be great at Tennessee for their program but would be a tough loss for LSU if he was to leave.

Don't see it. I think he is content at being a DC. Which is just fine

No interest in being a head coach. Guy likes to coach football...not all the bullshite PR stuff that comes along with an HC position.

something tells me if he hasnt taken that leap yet, hes unlikely to do so. maybe tennessee is the only place he'd consider.

and it would be a gigantic hit to LSU's program

Yeah he's getting up their in age with the pressure to win in the SEC it takes a certain person to be able to deal with it.Look at Meyer,"What a puss". I just think he could recruit well at UT and build that program back up and win fast.

Tennessee wouldn't hire Chavis as a head coach, ever. He hated making recruiting trips at Tennessee.

Can you imagine a head coach at Tennessee who didn't like traveling to recruit?

Well we know for sure he would have to travel to win but he seems like a closer as a recruiter.

he is very content being a career assistant.

i'm sure he's had plenty of chances to be an hc, especially during the fulmer glory days.

Bammer: Man, that would really be bad for LSU. I REAALLY hope THAT doesn't happen. But seriously what if it did how mad would you be?

He is like Mickey Andrews was at Florida State. A great DC at a big time program who will never get a head job at a big school.

But he does have a bad arse Mustache.

this is statement is fact. he's making plenty of money now. the chief has his feet firmly on the ground and really enjoys coaching defenses and staying out of the limelight. he is a great guy and UT really fricked up letting him out of knowville.

No doubt that UT messed up letting him go.Chavis does seem to be more content just being an DC or an Asst. but I bet some school's like UT would pay him big money but money isn't everything I have left jobs for another job paying less just because I wasn't happy.Look at Malzahn!
