Like others have already stated, Chief has no interest in being head coach, and being in his current situation, why would he want to rock the boat? A lot of coaching careers have been shot downd thanks to their inflated egos...thankfully Cheif doesn't think that way!

The guy is the best LB coach in the country and even turned down a few NFL offers as a position coach while at UT. I think he made it clear a few years back he didn't want to be a head coach. For one thing he HATES recruiting. That's why he loves LSU. ALL SEC Defensive lineman seem to grow on trees down there. Just go out and "CHERRY PICK".

Generally true, except the current DL rotation includes Sam Montgomery (SC), Ken Adams (AL vis MS JC), Michael Brockers & Chancey Aghayere (TX), Ego Ferguson (MD).
In other words, almost 50% of the current 3-deep DL depth chart is non-LA players.
LSU could survive on LA players only, but the increased national brand visibility, especially in the past 10 years, has brought in even more elite OOS players & helped take the program to an unprecedented level of success.
