Jimmy must not have much influence over the basketball coaching hire

of course, because it's so important to have a "smoke screen"

Smoke screens. The name of the game.

Muschamp is done as a head coach

Well, yeah, but it would be incredible Rant if he got the job.

And guaranteed, Auburn would have a phenomenal Year 2 under him. Challenge for the West, probably.

But it'll fall apart with an astonishing quickness.

Jimmy Rane is the richest man in the state worth about 900 million.

This can’t be right. How can the richest man in Alabama not even have a billion? Even poor little Mississippi has at least four I can think of off the top of my head. Duff brothers, Dickie Scruggs, and David Rich.

Grimes checks several boxes, if auburn ends up going the route of no HC experience…

- auburns OL recruiting has been a decade of shite since he left.
- he’s been a successful play caller.
- has ties to auburn, tho they’re not particularly strong.

I think we could do a lot worse than grimes.

Harbert family of Harbert construction are up there along with the Drummond family (coal). Garry Neil Drummond was part of the REC.

Y'all fired 2 coaches too fast. Need to go cheap with the possibility of getting high return. He's a good OC mind so you never know might get something special with him cheap. If it doesn't work out, you then go hard for someone big while you're recovering from the rape job the previous 2 HCs gave you financially. You're a dumpster fire right now anyway it's not going to be rebuilt overnight.

It was time for Gus to go. His time had become extremely stale. Everyone and their dog knew what play was coming as we lined up. Besides you know... NEVER beating UGA, Bama, or LSU on the road...

And anyone who says we fired Harsin too soon has NO CLUE what they are talking about. He should have never been hired. He was hired in a rouge action by the former unqualified AD.

It’s questionable if we should have fired Gus when we did COVID year and all, but under no circumstances did we fire Harsin a day too soon.

honestly wouldn't want the Auburn job if I were a coach. They're paying 2 buyouts, I don't know how I'd feel about getting what I need.

As an LSU fan, you would think that you would be more aware of how things can get turned around very quickly in this day and age.

How many scholarship players were on the LSU squad at the end of last season again? And how is LSU doing this season?

ETA:

Gus got 8 seasons and had the program in decline. At very best, he was not improving the program and was stagnant. Harsin took over the slow decline and decided to drive it straight off a cliff. So spare us the whole "fired too fast" schtick.
