Florida and Tennessee arguably have more tradition than tFlagship, and yet...

Florida’s last two head coach hires: DC at Texas and HC of Colorado State.

Tennessee’s last two head coach hires: HC of Lousiana Tech and HC of Cincinnati.

Arkansas’s last two head coach hires: HC of the Atlanta Falcons and HC of Wisconsin.

just for giggles: LSU promoted their dline coach to head coach

A fat bastard on his way to being fired and a sexual deviant that destroyed the program. Excellent hires.

Well, he was on Arky's staff in the mid-80s. So there's that.

The expectations at Arkansas aren't as unrealistic as they are at Florida and Tennessee.

And those high expectations are what's slowly killing the other programs in the SEC.

Are they? In what world is Ed Orgeron a good hire on paper for LSU? He may turn out to be a great hire but on paper he is a bad hire for an LSU level program.

And before the O can do no wrong crowd jumps in, this is not an attack on coach O just an objective observation.

No, but there is always a spin for every hire if that is your point.

Hc and ad at tech was good looking, lawyer, son of all time great and tech was pretty good. He realized he had to recruit Atl and southern ohio.
Dooley seemed ok.
Tennessee's geography and memphis being closer to other schools makes it difficult.
Needed a headliner from dayton cincinnati.
Where is he now?

To be fair Arkansas has been benefited from timing more than anything. Petrino was desperate to get back in college when Arky had an opening and Bielema wanted out of Wisconsin.

Muschamp was thought to be a steal. People forget now but he was the up and coming star when UF hired him. Mac was kind of a meh hire but he had a decent resume.

Kiffin leaving in the middle of the night is what fricked UT the first time. I thought Butch was an ok hire when he first came to town considering where UT was at the time.
