This is a bigger issue than enrollment
USC has around 30,000 students and is one of the largest private schools in the country, even though a majority of those are graduate students

Yea, my brother when out there for a few months for a job and he was on campus during the weekends and said they pretty much suck. He said LSU, TX, UF, BAMA, etc. are hands down better, not even in the same ballpark.

Compared to other similarly ranked and student enrollment schools, USC has a higher percentage of graduate students who pay their own tuition - so they are not lacking for funds in anyway! Also their Computer and Electrical Engineering Departments are top notch and receive heavy funding each year.

The school has money and the students at teh school have money.... that's not the issue (facilities are)
For those that haven't heard it before a commonly used nickname for USC is "The University of Spoiled Children"

SC doesn't even rank up there with the schools in the pac ten much less the real big boys. They have a long way to go before they catch up to Nike University......I mean Oregon!

USC athletic and academic funds are completely autonomous and separate. It doesn't matter how big SC's academic budget or endowment is when talking about athletics in this case. Not owning the coliseum has really hurt SC's revenue compared to similar programs. New facilities are slated to be started soon, but they have to finish paying off the Galen Center so it may take years

BTW, what is your take on the Galen Center? I think it is a great facility but the outside is a little cheesey (violin brick impression). SC waited way too long to build that.

I hope that we will one day see the surrounding neighborhoods go through true gentrification. There are some beautiful old homes not far from campus that are in great disrepair. The SC campus is actually pretty (not as nice as UCLA) but still nice. It is the neighborhood that sucks.
