You would think that a USC would want a guy that can beat a Bama ?

I've heard it relative to UGA. I do think he is really happy in Oxford. It is his actual home (or close thereby). His family is young, in school, etc.

His network of boosters makes recruiting really easy for him.

I think the only way he leaves is if Bama or Texas were to call.

Freeze is a Ole Miss lifer. Its his dream job. Honestly Ole Miss is stupid for paying him 4 million a year. Only way he leaves Ole Miss is he is fired.

Florida wanted him last year. He grew up in Oxford. He is top 10 paid coach. He isn't leaving for anything unless it is just an insane offer.

Honest question, if Freeze is an Ole Miss lifer who loves OM and grew up in Oxford, then why did he go to USM and not OM?

His major (sports management or whatever) wasn't offered at OM

Southern Miss was one of the original sports management programs.

I think Freeze told Sexton not to float his name out this year like the Florida deal last year. If your name keeps popping up for openings it can only hurt recruiting eventually.

I don't think Freeze would gain much favor at a public institution outside the Deep South. There's growing anti-Christian sentiment in the country and his over-the-top faith would exhaust West Coasters or Midwesterners.

He's also a work in progress with his game day coaching. He is much better than he was in his first year but still some progress to be made. That would scare off upper-tier schools.

Lastly, he doesn't want to move his family anymore. He cried at his introductory press conference about moving his family and that was just from Memphis to Oxford to Lambuth to Arkansas. His wife, parents and in-laws are alumni and he was born in Oxford. He'll be at Ole Miss as long as we want him/until the NCAA drops the Death Penalty on us.

In all honesty, Freeze has won some big games against Alabama and brought Ole Miss back to life, but that's about it. He's yet to win 10 games in a season or a division title. Plus, he seems perfectly happy at Ole Miss, so it's probably a waste of time.

Not only has he proven he can beat Bama, he's .500 or better against everyone in the West. He's beaten every school that he's coached against at least twice.

If he wins the bowl game (the Sugar Bowl at that), he will have win totals of seven in 2012, eight in 2013, nine in 2014 and 10 in 2015. That's pretty impressive from how dire everything was at the end of the Nutt era.

He took us to a NY6 Bowl in his third year and we are likely to make one this year. The only other teams likely to make NY6 Bowls in the first two years of the playoff are Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State and Baylor.

You can knock Freeze on quite a few things but a lack of success is definitely not one of them.
