Kentucky fans seem to like him and wanted to replace White with him if he left. Was DC for UK for 3 years until he left for the NFL, now ILB coach for the KC chiefs.

Of course it does. It means Brian Kelly has failed and this hire is a complete disaster. It can’t possibly be that he’s really interviewing people and exploring the best options.

Or after interviewing White, Brian Kelly decided he didn’t have a strong enough grasp of what is essentially Mark Stoops’ defense to implement it on his own apart from Stoops. He may have turned to House at that point and determined that he was better suited to run the defense if he is indeed the choice. It could still be in the exploratory phase as well. We’re all just guessing.
