Hey LSU, I get it, you’re scared but step back and think this one through

The last 3 coaches have won Natties. You have 12mil per year to go out and get who you want.
Riley is probably a smokescreen, because Jimmy Johnson would come out of retirement for 12mil per year.
Seriously, I know this is Monopoly money to the average fan but the best coaches understand that kind of cheddar.
You literally can get whoever you want.
So do not panic and settle for Billy Napier.
Remain calm and follow your AD’s lead.
I predict you will land the White Whale. But it may happen on a timeline you are not comfortable with.
Think Bama and Saban. Some coaches have to finish their current commitments in order to get free to come on board.
The right hire is worth waiting for and worth missing a few recruits over. Truthfully your best class as a new coach comes in year 3. So this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Just thought I will give these words to help calm down the nerves before it gets really crazy in here.

LSU will not settle and LSU will be fine. Some around here are in 100% panic mode because they believe Woody is striking out simply because info is locked air-tight. Some of these yo-yo heads actually think LSU should make a desperate panic hire with Napier before we "lose him". They TRULY believe Woody is running around like a chicken with his head cut off not knowing which way to turn.

This hire falls under the VUCA category. Most folks do not understand the complexity of managing this type of responsibility. Cowboy logic doesn’t always work in these situations. Getting the ink to dry is way more difficult than you can imagine. A simple rule to follow is no deal is better than a bad deal. So you wait for the right deal, not just the right person. The right person really does not need an interview. So that is why these deals come out of nowhere.
