What talent did he have to work with? Arizona hasn't exactly been a success story over the long haul.

It's NFL talent dude. Nobody is that bad except for Cleveland.

E is no threat to de-throne O

if a guy like Canada was having success and there was a rift, there's a chance the fanbase sided with Canada over O

that's literally how O ended up with this job after he stabbed Miles in the back and politicked his way to the big payday

Ensminger is no threat

I understand this logic, but the again, O is unlikely to last a long time anyway unless the offense looks good which it probably won’t with Ensminger.

The bigger threat to O would’ve been Aranda, who works on O’s side of the ball and is already titled Associate HC and who’s salary is not far off from a HC.

My meager donations have stopped already. I'll not donate another dollar nor attend any football games. I'll still support the team and cheer for our Tigers but I'll not spend another dime on LSU football until Orgeron and Alleva are gone.

O is in full blown Miles mode

He's scared taking a risk could lead to a 5-6 win season, and THEN shite would hit the fan

He's going with the safe, conservative choice who will put him in a better position to milk a new deal after continuing the 8-10 win path. He's trying to hold on for dear life because he's in over his head

This has become a massive joke.

Ole Miss fans warned us and there were still people on here that supported the Orgeron hire.

He’s a conman, an utter disaster of a program manager, and a bad head coach. He looked our fan-base straight in the eyes and said he was going to hire the best coordinators in the country. Instead, he’s making hires that turn us into a laughing stock.

I don’t want Orgeron to fail, because that means LSU fails. I want to eat crow as we hoist trophies up at the end of the year, but sadly that will never be the case with this buffoon running the show. We just need to make sure we get an elite recruiter for that additional coaching spot so we capitalize on the in-state talent next year and set up the next staff for early success.

Thanks Alleva. Please leave our state and never come back.

Well said, especially the part where we WANT O and LSU to succeed, even if we were against the hire and these massive fails that are going on.

I emailed a massive list on Friday conveying what I expected.

For me personally, they are just making bad decisions, they are working to insure I never contribute, visit, or support LSU in any way going forward, till F King and Alleva are removed.

They are doing a damn good job of pissing me off.

The coach who couldn't recruit? Yeah, let's hire 2 more.

I get what you're saying, and O choosing someone he trusts over someone with the ideal credentials fits the narrative you're shaping. And you could further the idea that he is turtling up after being burned once already by hiring Canada (assuming Canada was the problem).

But I would think Sterlin Gilbert isn't very high risk to O either. Some here don't think Gilbert has enough experience to be OC here, much less HC. There's no realistic way that Gilbert could possibly be in contention to overthrow O for over 5 years. (Aranda is the bigger threat for that as others have said... unless O is content that Aranda wants to jump to the NFL before being HC at LSU.)

Further, if Gilbert could innovate even a hair and make LSU's offense more interesting, there'd be a little more patience for him to make mistakes in year one next year. There will be zero patience from the fan base if Ensminger cobbles together some amalgamation of Cameron's offense with some stuff Kiffin might've done and the offense has a poorly established identity again.

Yep. I bet he figures, like Miles did, that with an elite defense all he needs is a serviceable offense that doesn’t lose games, and voila. 9-10 wins per year. Will never win a NC, but also won’t ever be embarrassed.

Pete is a fine coach but his inability to recruit hurt us. It's a fact, a DL we lost to FSU said it point blank

And here I was last week, feeling all happy that Jimbo wasn't able to lure Aranda away with his tantalizing honey chicken recipe.

High fives going all around in the Alabama Defensive Coaches Office. They already are scheming how to hold us under our 125 yards we got in 2016, at home, with a veteran QB, and a Heisman candidate.
