I'm afraid that most of the posters on this site will be relieved that O's job, and hopefully Alleva's as well, will hinge on the outcome of the 2018 season. I hope that O is a success this season (only because I bleed purple and gold and want the team to succeed), but I don't see the 2018 season going very well, now. 8 wins tops.

I don’t think the fan base will accept another promotion from within once O is fired.

The fans would take Aranda tomorrow and feel great about it.

Is Alleva essentially tethered to the Orgeron hire?

If it wasnt already obvious, that was one of the only ways Aranda would stay. He loves Baton Rouge, but Jimbo struck a good note in him. Having a guarantee that he would be the first candidate for HC in the event Orgeron leaves is a pretty sweet deal. Aranda couldnt realistically pass that up.

I really feel bad for Ensminger in all of this. The administration and Coach O are putting him into a position to fail. The guy clearly bleeds P&G and loves the university, but he is letting his loyalty put him in a bad spot.

Yeah, unlike O he's actually one of us and underrated at what he currently does and O just set him up to be the new Lou Tepper.

I want to believe you. But I am still in too much denial that our brass is really this utterly incompetent and blatantly negligent towards the cash cow of LSU Athletics, especially after hoping they'd have learned their lesson after they shite the bed last year.

I am going to reserve my full blown melt until it's official. I hope I can refrain from going all KarlMalonesFlipPhone on the board and getting a permaban...

So, 73 yr old Sullivan is the passing game coord. and a dline coach is the run coord??

Seriously though, how does it work with Aranda being HCIW and the head coach is fairly young and only in his second year?

Of course 99% of us would take Aranda over O today. But if there was an actual head coaching search where you interview actual candidates... do you hire the DC after firing the head coach OR should hire a successful head coach from another program? I don’t like even putting aranda and O in the same sentence but the situations might too similar for many to handle.

This HCIW condition isnt guaranteed. It simply means Aranda will be the first person interviewed and evaluated.

Should I change the OP to something of that sort?

So O targeted a guy with baggage and the administration said no.

Tried to get Kiffin to take a positional downgrade and he said no

Wouldn't even negotiate with Gilbert.

Then just shut it all down and hired Ensminger. Like there was only 3 guys in all of college football that he could hire wnd 2 of them were complete longshots to begin with. What a loser.

except now, they're not all on the same page, infighting, backstabbing, intentional misdirections, factions have formed

they're not thinking about the cash in the cow, it's about a shift in the balance of power over that cow

Yeah qualify the hciw line in your OP. There is a group of posters here that will use any vague info as a reason to discredit you
