Tough spot. Does a coach deserve to be fired if they earn a bowl bid? Maybe so if we give 6-6 teams, bowl bids.

It's not just one thing, though. It's the compilation of everything that shows he is in over his head and can't handle the SEC culture. He is 0-5 when he has a week or more to prepare for a game. The only thing he has done is improve recruiting a little, but everything else has suffered. I don't think he is a good fit culturally. His style might work in the NE or out west, but the players he has to deal with in the south respond better to more discipline.

He should have been fired last year when we lost 5 games with the number 1 defense in the country. He is supposed to be an offensive game planner but we have been absolutely putrid on offense. The culture that Mullen built has completely been torn apart in two years. Players fighting, cheating in school and not going to class. He told the fans to kick rocks and pound sand after going 6-6 because an idiot decided to pee like a dog in the end zone. We all hate the guy, it just wasn’t a good fit and we need to wash our hands of him

When he came in and measured the players for champ rings, I thought that was a pretty cool motivational tactic.
Something is wrong at MSU, I agree. If you fire him now... most of the good coaches have already been hired. Do you really want the guys like Napier who all the other big schools said no thanks?
