I wouldn't mind Mullen.

He turned nobody MSU into a damn good team. Coached up a "tight end type" into a really damn good QB. He has tons of experience as a QB coach.

In our current state, LSU is recruiting players by the droves just by existing and pumping players into the NFL. All we need is someone to help us develop QBs and run a capable offense and we are golden IMO.

The first three names, IMO, are Tom Herman, Jimbo Fisher and Chip Kelly.

You can swing for the fences on the first two pitches. After you've got two strikes, worry about just making contact ... metaphorically speaking, of course.

Great coach. Would probably be #3 on my reasonable wish list behind Tom Herman and Jimbo Fisher.

No he wouldn't.

Outside of Dak, he really hasn't even been that good. And Florida, his dream job, didn't even consider him.

He's a decent coach but he is absolutely nothing special.

Agree I could see Mullen here if the bigger names don't come through. He would be a very solid hire.

I do not want to take a coach from our division. Ever. We need to do our homework and find an up and coming winner like we did Saban.

1st, why do you think Florida is his dream job? I hate the term "dream job", hell Orgeron has apparently had 3 different dream jobs. Just because he once coached there for a few years doesn't make it his dream job.

2nd, show me proof that Florida didn't consider him.

Mullen is a shitty recruiter, but a good coach. He'd be a pretty good fit at LSU since LSU has built in recruiting advantages

Agreed! He knows how to recruit and play FB in the SEC West. He is a former OC, and has done well with limitations (facilities, program name/tradition, talent, etc.) at Miss St. Comes across as a level-headed, players type HC. Would call it a positive hire, and keep charging Tigers!

He is at miss state. I think he made a mistake not cashing out when Dak left.

Regardless despite this year mullen isn't a bad coach. He has flaws but you give him top of the line money for a dc and he is set. We have recruiters and he can hire recruiters.

Dak is to Mullen what Favre is to Curley.

That's a dramatic comparison I know and Mullen isn't near that bad, but IMO it's a similar phenomenon.
