Jimbo has proven that he can recruit as a HC

Jimbo also has top classes while competing with all other Florida schools. If he took his Florida ties to LSU. Both of those combined (along with Aranda recruiting for the defense) might get us in the top one or two spots for recruiting, imo.

Im not so sure. Seems like the "hire o now" people will never change their minds, or they won't ever admit on the CCB at least.

I'm sure he has a group of hardline supporters who really just want a coon arse to be promoted. But I think those are a minority of those who are presently swayed.

I guess we'll see depending on the response to the Alabama game- at least if there's a loss.

I like Peterson 1st, but that's never happening. Jimbo is my 2nd, due to his proven track record at a big program and lineage under top coaches. I'm torn between Herman and O (provided he finishes the year strong) at 3 and 4. Figure if Herman or Jimbo want it, they'll be here. And I pray O stays on in some capacity. If not, I imagine it will be O. And I'd rather him, if he earns it, over some MAC or AAC hot commodity.

What more could they give than what he was prior to HC? You can't really make him a co DC or any higher up in recruiting duties. Don't see what else you could give him?

Exactly, I completely agree. If not retained as HC, I would be surprised if he returns. Maybe DL coach, recruiting coordinator, and associate head coach with a nice pay bump? I'd just hate for him to be a casualty with any change given his recruiting importance, especially given the importance of his communication with recruits over the next month. Not saying I'm sold on him as our next coach, but I'm trying to envision a way that we get a top coach along with O staying and our recruiting class staying intact. Guess there's probably no way that all happens, but a man can wish.

Sad part is, Petrino is probably the best coach on that list, along with Chip Kelly of the 49ers. Both are kinda jerks and expensive though, making Peterson the better want, although he's seen as a west coast guy only. Jimbo may not want to duplicate the circus from last season when he may or may not have been a candidate. That leads us to Herman, who may be already be heading to Texas. Down to Orgeron now, along with Fedora, maybe Brohm or Fleck, perhaps Gundy or Strong. Mullen might get a late phone call.
Now we're in the realistic realm of where our next coach is coming from. Pete Carroll, are you available?

With the volume of his supporters on this board. I was sure a Ogeron would be number one with a landslide. This make me feel better about our fan base. Hope Alleva realizes the noisiest fans don't speak for the majority.

Great poll idea OP

Sir, you are mistaken. The vast majority of Tiger fans are not represented here, and if CEO wins out, will demand he be made permanent coach.

Sadly this. Orgeron will be the next HC unless he totally shits the bed in the last four games.

And it kind of explains why everyone thinks that Cajuns are dumb

Orgeron better than Jimbo is laughable. So many dumb LSU fans. We deserve mediocrity if Jimbo wants to come here and we pick Orgeron instead

I'm anti-Orgeron for head coach, but that's bigoted. Also, it doesn't explain anything. Instead, it would be an example of said dumbness.

I bet it would go like this, if O is HC: he hires some good coordinators for next year. We retain them through 2018. LSU performs at or slightly above where they are. All O fans say "see!?! You're all idiots for not wanting O.".

O then has to "restart" the program when talent leaves on both the coaching and players sides. Then you see how coach O really plays out. It's like hiring a president or ceo you don't know how great they really are unless they have to make some truly difficult calls on and off the field.
