Well yeah man, and I said it clearly in a non-snarky way.

Yeah, but do we know that Saban is hamstringing his autonomy as a coach?

Well it’s just common sense that Saban has some level of input on their defense. Would be pretty silly to assume anything else

Even if he’s not, Saban gets a majority of the credit no matter how little he is involved or not. It’s not just about control, but also getting the full responsibility

I only ask because the answer is so obvious

Alabama’s second half adjustments this year have been pretty damn good. The let the LBs play and blitz them a lot! However, that’s been consistent at Alabama for some time now but this year it’s been very aggressive.

According to the rantards that don't want him he basically just recruits and Saban coaches the defense himself.

Alabama has the #8 ranked total defense in the country. Take that as you will.

I see that. I asked because even though it seems obvious, I haven’t seen anything concrete as to how he would run things differently if he were somewhere else. Just trying to make conversation and pick y’all’s brains about it.

Maybe he doesn't want to get yelled at on national television

Why would he leave Bama? Especially as a lateral move?

He grew up here in Hammond. Went to school with him at Holy Ghost Catholic. A lot of his best friends are still down in this area. And he knows how to recruit and that Louisiana is an awesome recruiting ground. He also was hitting up Texas when he was at UTSA. Frank Wilson gave him his first DC job, and they worked well together. Honestly, if he gets the chance to choose one or the other... I could see him coming home. Dinner with his parents only 45 minutes away... If they still live in Hammond.

Not at UTSA he didn't. Good on his own then learns at the foot of a master. A Louisiana kid. I'm coming around.

it's the year of the lateral move...$$$

Sure but it’ll have to be for more than the “$$$” because Alabama has plenty of that too.

People act like he isn't the one calling that defense.

Watch aranda during a game. Roberts calls every play during the game. Same as golding.

I get sick of the golding can't be good cause it's saban's defense.

I am TALKING SABAN!!!! DC does what SABAN wants! golding calls sabans defense.

\just like CUM's success at BG, Utah, UF and OSU, it was CUM offense his OC ran and called from playbook. this is not hard people.

Same reason errrbody leaves Bama. To get away from Saban. Coaching at Alabama is like going into the military. Kiss your wife and family goodby and see them when you get out... Some sports writer did a story on this a few yrs back and the response was universal. You go there to get the experience and get out.
