Lol what do you think a WR coach does

It’s a glorified recruiting position, and he is going to kill it in LA & In this region. Secondly, a guy like this will foster a room based on brotherhood. Kids will love going to work for him. That is huge right now. These kids spend the most time with their position coach over anyone else.

Most of the georgia guys will say he missed players on the recruiting trail.

I think he will be fine.

If you think he’s bad, I’d like to hear your opinion on Mickey Joseph and DJ Mangus.

I didn't have a problem with getting rid of either guy.

Like i said i think hankton will be fine just think lsu can do better with the receivers they put in the league.

Y'all act like no one can question a hire.

Does Hankton being hired relieve some of the concerns over a run heavy offense?

Let me just start with this: I am a huge fan of the hire.

That said, I'm not sure why this would relieve concern around a run heavy offense. Did you watch UGA's offense this year?

The WR coach doesnt control how much they pass. Not at UGA & not at LSU in the future

It's fine to question hires, but you said lsu can do better yet provided no other realistic options. That's why people are shitting on you.

I don't disagree. That's why I ask - why would this relieve any fear?

You say this but then on the other hand you say joe brady changed the entire receiving room, so which is it?

Kids loved mickey joseph too.

I like hankton and think kids love him.

Just hope he kills it on the recruiting trail.

I think he will do a better job than Colbert would given his Louisiana roots.

WR success is much more scheme dependent than coach dependent. That was Brady’s impact. Not so much his hands on work with the WRs.

If LSU has a good scheme, with the athletes they recruit, it doesn’t really matter who the WR coach is. If the scheme is good, He’ll be a hero as long as he recruits the right guys.

Joe Brady was PGC not WR coach. The "Joe Brady" of this staff, with respect to the type of role Brady had while at LSU, will likely be more on Sloan than Hankton considering Sloan's OC and QB coaching background.

Brady was the de-facto offensive coordinator .

People can debate all day & night who called plays. But one thing you can’t argue is that the plays were his, and his alone.

I agree I just didn't want to go down that rabbit hole.

That's why I meantioned Sloan will likely fill a similar role to Brady because he is labeled as the QB coach but with his background I am assuming he will be filling the PGC/co-oc type of role and heavily influence the type of scheme we run on offense, along with Kelly and Denbrock of course.

Hankton will be the pgc also.

His role won't be the same as brady but that will be his title.

The point was lester called the pgc just a recruiting position but on the other hand claimed brady changed the receiving room from 2018 to 2019(which he did).
