Heck, I would've gambled on Tee Martin before Schiano. At least he's one of their own.

I'm not sure I understand why everyone thinks this is such a bad hire?
I know Schiano was a disaster at TB (that whole fiasco with the blitzing on the kneel was pathetic) but he did flip a hopeless Rutgers program, and he's been a good DC for OSU by all accounts.
Personally I think he's automatically the 2nd best coach in the SEC (which is embarrassing). I'd take him over Coach O in a hot minute, NO question. At least he knows some shite about football.

Yeah the football part of Schiano is not that bad. Would take him over Norvell or Campbell in that regard.

I might give you Mullen or Gus, but the rest are definitely worse football coaches than Schiano.

There's no question about his coaching ability; that's not the issue. It's his MORALS that are the issue. It'll be a PR nightmare. Did UT execs really think their fanbase wouldn't remember this?
