I think the backlash will keep it from actually happening

I am no expert but I don't think that's how it works

Should just hire Hoke as a caretaker for one year vs hiring Schiano

They need to trot him out there and get it over with.

What the frick are you talking about? He was 68-67 at Rutgers he didn't lose less than 4 games in his last 5 seasons there
Sounds almost exactly like Mullen at State. They have lost 4 or more games in 8 of his 9 seasons. I think they've only finished ranked twice.

You also have to realize that Miami and Virginia Tech left the conference after 04. Rich Rod left West Virginia after 07. Brian Kelly had a couple of great years at Cincinnati in 08-09, but for the most part, Schiano had a very winnable schedule in the Big East during his tenure.

I never said he was good as a HC. I just said he was better than most of the coaches in the SEC, which is definitely true.
Dude you just said he was only maybe better than Mullen and Malzahn.
Rutgers finished ranked only one time under schiano( which was ten years ago). He went 4-8 is his second to last season with them. When has schiano proven that he won't just be another stinker?

As entertaining as all this is, those of us that compete with Bama need Tennessee to be good again. That can't keep being an annual bye for them whole we are knocking heads with Florida and Georgia.

Volquest can confirm @DanWolken report: Tennessee is "close" with Greg Schiano to become its next head coach but deal is not done.

Yeah but at least it was in the sec and not the shitty big east.
I'm also not claiming that Mullen is the second best coach in the conference
