Greater chance of re-hiring Miles than getting Chris Peterson

This board is cluttered with threads on this dude. Facts:
- He is from the NW and loves it there
- He turned down countless jobs while at Boise.
- UW is his dream job
- He has a special needs child whose doctors are in that area
- He has no intention of leaving the NW...ever
He's NOT coming here. No way, no how. He's from there and the quality of life there is better anyway.
Stop wasting time with threads on him, Briles and Petrino. None of those are options.

Has a coach ever been fired and then re-hired by the same school? Meaning what if LSU strikes out on their top 10 choices, would they consider bringing him back?

Then we leave O in place until one is hired.
Don't panic!

I tend to agree with you, but do you know him. Look at Mike Riley. Was offered the USC job then turned it down. He played there. He then left for Nebraska.
Look at Bret at Wisconsin. He left for Arkansas.
I am just saying I wouldn't rule anything out. Yes I have heard the same. Same for the coach at Stanford and Utah. Good coaches but not sure it they could recruit here, more so the Utah coach not Shaw.

A UW fan posted that this is no longer the case, and wasn't the case when Peterson took the job.
You're right, of course, he's not going anywhere, but at least his kid being unhealthy is no longer an 'excuse' for schools that fail to land him.

would he take the USCw job?

i thought he was offered that job (when it had more luster) and he turned them down

Hey, search committee.... don't bother reaching out, our boy ghost here already threw the pot of gold at Peterson for us.
While I agree that the odds are extremely low, you are just spewing bull shite you've read elsewhere. Swing for the fences with Peterson et al and work your way down.

I've learned one thing about coaching changes in the last 10 years or so:
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is definitive.
A coach can flat out scream that he will not be the head coach of a different team and two weeks later be the head coach of that said team.

Money does some amazing things for quality of life and doctors.
Not saying it'll happen. But don't be so butt hurt about people liking the idea. Money changes EVERYTHING.

You guys are nuts. It's basically the opinion of just about anyone who has been to both places that Seattle > Baton Rouge.
Gorgeous city, campus, stadium. Outstanding outdoor activities, tech hub, good conference that he's set up to dominate for the next decade. Good football tradition and history.
It's not like UW can't afford to pay the guy. He's not coming here.

Never offered, but supposedly Haden did inquire about him. I don't think he's ever had any interest in a school like SC, UW fits his personality. Also, it pains me to say but SC will not be having an opening this year. Sam Darnold has basically saved Heltons job. The teams playing much better since he took over.

Meaning what if LSU strikes out on their top 10 choices, would they consider bringing him back?
