What’s more impressive, the overall record or the over 400 yards given up by his defense this year. Oh, and the 400 yards given up is against the weakest part of the schedule.

Unless something drastically changes (a win over Michigan would help), Mel Tucker is absolutely the fanbase melt candidate for sure
Not that I personally agree with that, it just is what it is at the moment. He is definitely not a fan favorite. Out of all possible hires, he gets the most poo’d on so far

It’s bad if a coach is forced to use the portal because of his recruiting or developmental failures, but that’s not the case with Tucker.

I hope he does. Would absolutely make me (or anyone) feel better about him. There’s very little HC data on him, so this year is certainly important data.
That said, he won’t go 3-1. They’ll bet beat by Michigan and Ohio State…and the games won’t be close. PennSt game probably too. And I’d say a split with Purdue and Maryland. So probably a 8-4 finish would be my guess. Not bad, not great, still TBD what kind of coach he will be.
I hope I’m wrong tho. I sincerely do. If he is the hire, I’d feel a lot better about it if he turns MichSt into a 9+ win team in 2 years, who wouldn’t?

That is a dumb argument but I don't think you build a solid program with the portal either. If you have to go get guys from the portal every year then your program is built on a house of cards.
