you grade it an A and then say its risky and ballsy. yeah, that makes sense
its a fearless hire. hiring some safe schmuck who knew the program and would continue the momentum but eventually fail would be a good hire?

i grade it highly based on them going after the best candidate for them, and not worried about all you negative nancys and his lack of head coaching. he has been on elite staffs for 8 years now....

means nothing

he's taking over the #2 program in CFB who just had problems hiring its head coach

D.

Florida is a top 3 coaching job right now. I can't believe Foley even had a coordinator on his top 10 list. Isn't Foley the same AD who hired a young, energetic, defensive coordinator who could recruit, and who had experience as a DC in the SEC? His last name was Zook. How did that turn out?

I'm stunned, and would be livid as a Florida fan.

I haven't followed every post but you've made some full retard posts that have been tough to ignore. this one just followed the pattern. didn't mean to make you feel self conscious.

its a risky hire, but its a big swing-for-the-fences hire. they werent worried about coaching experience and all that, they went for the guy they thought would best run their team, hopefully for awhile.

its a balls play

When you are making a hire that will cost the University up to $30 million over the next 5 years (including the entire staff's salaries), and you're making these hires for a top 5 program that should have the pick of the litter, you don't need to make risky hires and ballsy plays.

I know I would not be comfortable explaining to their Board of Trustees that the university is about to expend $30 million over 5 years under the justification of "hey, this guy is risky, but it's a ballsy move, I figured you guys would love it."

I've got to agree with the C-. It is certainly possible that this was a good hire but it is a huge risk.
