Great insight, give your reasons. Dont pull them out your arse though, give an informed opinion.

Not saying Grimes would be a bad hire, but a really good QB can make an OC look very good.

He would have very good QBs at LSU.

Also, Zach Wilson was a 3-star whose only P5 offers were Cal, Oregon State, Iowa, Minnesota and Syracuse.

I feel Like Grimes with Callaway as QB coach might actually work, or it might just be fricking terrible.

Thoughts on pulling him for the OC?

go read the Stats for OC thread on this board and you would not have had to ask the question. Grimes would be several down the list.

when Grimes coached the O-line, the defense got to the quarterback before the ball did. that was some sad coaching.

I thought he was sub-par at AU and LSU. Hell, he WAS sub par at both. This history revisionism by this board while about par for the course is still dumb and sad.

Some position coaches can't hack it as coordinators. The reverse is also true. Grimes deserves his credit for what he's done at BYU. No one can argue that he hasn't done a great job... as OC.

Sounds just like the boring, safe hire O would go for.

Not sold on Grimes simply due to relative lack of experience.

He could be a great hire, or a bust.

BYU has a 1st round QB that makes his OC look good. Sounds like the kid wasn’t a big-time recruit & has grown over time, so surely JG deserves some credit for QB development.

Not a “safe” hire by any means. Think there may be more qualified candidates.
