I'll believe it when I see it. I see no way that Gene Chizik would associate himself with Bobby Petrino, let alone in a subservient position.

Did Gene & Bobby coach together on Tubs staff at AU? (Tubs had such a carosel of coord's in his time a AU I can't remember.)

They coached together in 2002 at Auburn and have remained pretty good friends. During Jetgate, it was rumored that Petrino would have wanted to keep Chizik on the staff if he took over.

Makes sense Bobby would want Gene on his staff then. Gene's good guy persona would level out Bobby's bad boy image.

You mean Gene's " I need to learn my role and get out of Cam Newton's and the people who paid him's way" image?

Is that the image you have of him? Doubt that one is too prevelant outside of certain circles.

Like the other poster said, he does have a good guy persona, kind of 'aww shucks' like. And he was a good DC. Just a bad HC.

I'm not saying anything until I'm convinced that they're not going to hire Randy Shannon as their DC. They're talking about it.

Every time I see this picture, I think about Tiger Woods. He was so smart not to have a press conference before he healed.

My first thought as well but Chizik was defending the shite out of Bobby on Sirius radio today.
