No where in my post did I use "guarantee" or the dreaded "book it"..
True but the title of your thread is 'Crowton is gonna stay' which sounds somewhat definitive for someone without any concrete info.

I've never argued that Crowton should stay.

I can see that...the issue is that the coaching carousel is turning and anything can happen BUT all the indications I am getting is that he will be here next year...
Book it!!

no, but you'll have your list of excuses for LM the moment it's announced he does.

i look at it this way. i have my concerns, i try to keep an open mind. what if it's the qb? what if they guy does well next year? what if we are wrong and the h.c. is right?
i have a hard time believing these guys can coach over 20 years at the highest of levels and not know what they are doing. i have a hard time believing a guy can call the best offense in school history then not know how to call a good offense again. i don't think he forgot. i'm not saying i'm a fan. i just try to be realistic with this. this is why i try and maintain an open mind.
If mett is the guy and the perform well next year, then you have to give props to miles.

I've posted before that Les is a complete believer in Zach Mettenberger and is HEAVILY invested in him...he thinks #8 is the answer to what ails us...
so you are saying there is a chance that this kids starts next year?

We just want a freaking change in the worst way! I know that sounds like a 19 year old Obama supporter, but seriously this is beyond "What are we waiting for" ?
If Crowton could dial up plays we saw last night, I have no problem with him staying.
But LSU play calling has sucks badly for 2.5 seasons...I don't know if it's because JJ is so bad or what, but all of it looks bad!
We want Change now!!! Stop believing! Change something, (OC and QB)_ so we can have hope in the change

If Crowton stays it doesn't matter who is at Quarterback the offense will fricking tank. I hope to hell the OP is wrong. Teams all around us are getting better and we are not even trying to keep up that is bullshite. For the life of me I can't see why Miles would keep the man around.

If Crowton does stay, then hopefully The Berg wins the QB job outright. Because something has to change to expect different results.
I think GC back with JJ as starter and Les should get run. However, it's very possible he doesn't move GC b/c Mett will be the starter. I think GC would do fine with Mett but that doesn't make him a good OC as he can't seem to change or make it work without a certain type of guy.

i give you that. we'll disagree on "development". i just don't believe in it. i believe the player is the player. it's up to player, his God given ability and his desire to be great.

please show me someone who consistantly does this? again, i don't believe in it. i do think crowton has issues with recruiting good ones (qb's).

well, guess you thought cam newton/Au, ryan mallet (last year), would fail. i'm not saying he's going to be those guys. i'm saying you're theory is as weak or weaker than mine.
you've made up your mind. you choose to see the negative, however, believe it or not, you're not always right, neither am I.
it's a shame no one can have a decent conversation with you. it's sad to see such a angry/jaded person.

If Gary stays, I see it playing out as a 2 QB system again... with Mett taking the bulk of the snaps and JJ doing running QB duties.

Jimbo
OU
Leach
Mullen
Norm Chow when he gave a damn
Sarkisian
Chip Kelly
I could go on

Imagine this scenario:
Miles stays
Crowton stays
JJ starts
LSU goes 9-3
Offense ranked 85th in the country
Acceptable?
Miles stays
Crowton stays
JJ starts
LSU goes 9-3
Offense ranked 85th in the country
Acceptable?

No, LSU fans expect to win the SEC this year!!!
I am dead serious!

No, if Crowton leaves then Mettenburg will have the opportunity to win the position.
