I like coach O as much as the next guy no doubt but I just feel he is too unproven to just be handed the LSU HC job. Granted he failed at Ole Miss and went on to do a decent intern job at USC with all things considering but where has he really proved he can be a sure thing long term? You just can't buy out Miles and Cameron and not make a home run hire in my eyes.

I understand what you're saying. I'm neutral on the coaching search. I hope the powers that be make the right decision. Unfortunately they will not please everyone. Still WAY too early to even remotely start speculating on anything. I'll be sure to have him (the salesman) stop by on a regular basis through the end of football season until a hire is made.
That, and he's (the salesman) is a former golf pro at a local private course. Was tired of putting up with the "entitled" crowd and the pay was, to my surprise, embarrassingly low. Dude plays scratch golf and he's a darn good teacher.

Herman has been making some interesting comments lately. Last Friday on the Dan Patrick show he mentioned the resources needed at a university to win a championship. This week, at his Monday press conference and tonight at his weekly show, he spoke about the talent level of UH and how it's not good enough to have a down game. Said UH would never have talent of that level. He's either trying to motivate his team in a strange way, or he gone. He gone.
Let the bidding begin.

I really hope we choose him over Jimbo.

There is no way he isn't gone. As hot as he is right now, and considering UH's chances at the playoff and/or Big 12 are pretty much 0%, there is no compelling reason to stay at a place like Cougar High.

There were tons of rumors flying around last year about him and SC, Georgia, and apparently even LSU. He hedged his bets and decided to wait another year, in hopes that a bigger job would open up, and knowing his name would be at the top of the list. The chance he took is about to payoff big time.

I'm perfectly happy with Petrino. He would be a great coach at LSU. Jimbo Fisher would be an inevitable bust even with all of LSU's talent. This school can do better than t
Lol. Petrino builds his teams on grade and character risks, because Louisville wants to win at all costs and will admit any beating heart. Jimbo has a NC and 3 ACC titles. Petrino has ONE CUSA TITLE twelve years ago, and ONE BIG EAST TITLE ten years ago. Gtfo

Dude, he won a CUSA and a Big East championship!!! Petrino has been a HC a lot longer than Jimbo, and Jimbo has accomplished a lot more than Petrino.

The Big 12 presidents meet on the 17th, only a few days away, and expansion is high on the agenda. All it takes is 2 negative votes & there is no expansion. No expansion, Houston remains only a fish in a small pond. So to this extent, we should know a bit more next wk.

Petrino is a dull boring scum bag kind of guy
I don't like his body language
I don't like his talks, interviews..PC's
I don't like his energy
I don't like his scandals
I don't like the fact he left UL for pro ball and then just quit mid season on Atlanta.
He has questionable character, so how is he going to build character in the players?
He finds very talented WR's and QB's and make games interesting to watch, he can field a competitive team
Beyond that he will never win anything big...

quote:Well, I think it is a pretty common expectation that all of these are nos: UTexas, TCU, OU, Okie State. UH ain't joining the Big 12 in the foreseeable future.
