Absolutely not. He's burned his bridges there

What you need to know about Kelly here. He got fired in Philadelphia and he is now 1-8 at SF.

College football is a much better fit for him. The refs won't slow his tempo and opposing defensive coaches won't be as fast to make adjustments. Boosters? Recruiting? The W's will take care of those issues.

Agreed. Lsu sells itself by being the best place to play a college football game on God's green earth. Bring in a coach that is elite, then it would make a dynasty

One of LSU's best teams hung 40+ on what was probably his best team with the Ducks. AU beat another good team of his. And he's a huge POS.

Hiring Chip Kelly would instantly re-brand our program and establish LSU on a championship trajectory. This is how we move on from Miles; this is how we drive Saban into early retirement; this is how we climb back into the drivers seat in the west and win multiple national championships over the next decade. It could happen: we can do this.

No. It's 100% a fruitless endeavor. No more chip Kelly talk, time to get realistic.

0% Kelly comes here

He's a west coast guy. His name hasn't been floated at all, it seems. He's made it clear he wants to stay in the NFL, although recent rumors are that his agent is exploring colleges.

It's a far stretch.

I'd love the hire though.

He'd be a great hire, but LSU is nowhere close to getting him for several reasons.

A) 4 year deal with SF for $6 million a year

B) he clearly wants to coach in the NFL

C)

Sources close to Chip Kelly have told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the San Francisco 49ers head coach is not just paying lip service to the idea that he isn't interested to returning to his former Oregon coaching job or any college job, despite speculation to the contrary.

quote:

Even billionaire Oregon booster Phil Knight attended last Sunday's 49ers game as Kelly's guest. But when asked about the Oregon opening last week, Kelly said: "No. I'm the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. So, not looking at anything else. I'm here."

Yes, I definitely want a coach with 29 losses, and counting, over the last four seasons.

So you wouldn't have taken Saban after his lackluster stint with the Dolphins?

I hate that so many people want someone with some kind of connection. Oh he's from Louisiana, or he coached at LSU, or he understands the culture here, bla bla, fricking bla. Win.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

Saban had no connection to Bama other than being in the SEC

Get the best coach that you can, and give him the resources to succeed, period

Of course not, but you're comparing NFL losses to college losses.

I'm comparing 2 successful CFB coaches who were unsuccessful in the NFL.

It's cute you think it works like this. You must not realize that boosters have the same mentality of a head coach. You must win and you must respect me and my money.

NO school recruits it's self. If it did Saban wouldn't have the highest recruiting budget in the country
