How’s the general consensus that the OL is the worst in the SEC but y’all expect the RBs to be successful lmao please tell how does that make sense

i'd take a bump in pay and less actual responsibility overall, in a heartbeat... i really don't understand Frank's angle here, refusing to step aside from the on field coaching role

do we know that he's getting a bump in pay if he takes an off-field role? off-field roles generally make less. his title was Asst HC/ RB coach (before becoming interim), so he's already making a good bit for a position coach I'd imagine.

Also, doesn't him being off-field limit his ability to recruit off campus? Which kinda defeats some of the purpose of keeping him, let alone at a higher salary.

If you actually watch the games and pay attention to the RBs, they killed as many plays on their own as anything. It was a massive team effort to be that bad in the running game.

Poor decision making, bad cuts, running into the back of lineman, missed blocks in pass protection, plenty of things specific to the RBs that are evident, and it has everything to do with Wilson as their unit coach.

To ALL the wet dream Frank Wilson enthusiasts saying LSU will LOSE the ENTIRE state if Frank Wilson isn't on the coaching staff next year.....

PLEASE name just ONE of his recruits that's won a natty. NAME JUST ONE!

So you are admitting that your entire argument in support of Wilson is bullshite then, right?

No. I said it’s an obstacle that Kiffin would have to overcome.

It's an easily surmountable one that will pay dividends in the overall program and potential of the team. Wilson is an absolute net negative on this program.

This has been going on behind the scenes since Lane was hired.

So yes, Frank is flirting with Texas. He has not been assured that he is on the field coaching job with LSU that is what he wants per report reports from all of our media.

Then "pillaging" Louisiana feels like a bit of an exaggeration then?

I think it's fair to say, at this point what Frank brings to the table currently, is more valuable to UT than it is to LSU.

You can't let one coach hold the whole program and offense hostage. He's not a good RB coach and is supposedly refusing an off-field role. Seems we're at an impasse.

Let's look at how important NOLA players and Frank's necessity

NOLA recruiting under Frank since 2022:

2022
Lost: Aaron Anderson and Jacoby Matthews
Got: no one

2023
Lost: Manning, Jonathan Bax and Justin Horne
Got: Tyree Adams

2024
Lost: Wardell Mack
Got Kylan Billiot (transfer portal), Bernard Causy (transferred already)

2025
Lost: Stewart, Jacoby Washington, Jasper Parker, Daejawn Smith, Nate Sheppard (huge miss)
Got: Berry, TaRon Francis

2026
Lost: Jakai Anderson, Xavier Owens
Got: Richard Anderson, Aiden Hall

So, of the top 15-20 players in Louisiana, Frank has lost more from the NOLA area in the last 5 recruiting cycles than he brought in. Some were processed, sure, and some were not good enough for LSU.

But before Frank, you had no issue getting NOLA guys outside of 2020:
2021
Lost: Jackie Marshall
Got: Mason Smith, Saivion Jones, Destyn Hill,

2020
Lost: Van Pran, Patrick Jenkins, Cory Wren
Got: None

2019
Lost: Sophser, Greg Brooks, Devin Bush
Got: John Emery, Devonta Lee, Donte Starks,

So doesn't look like much difference to me. Franks is not the end all be all, and is not worth the headache and costs.

Every offensive coach on this staff had a chance to salvage their reputation when Brian Kelly and Joe Sloan were fired with 4 games left in the regular season. They had a chance to show that it was the BK/Sloan offense dragging us down.

Instead the offense got historically worse. Just head shaking levels of incompetence from coaching on the offensive side of the ball.

You lost recruits because you fired your head coach, you have had a different D Line coach for the past 100 seasons, and you had a damn middle school coach coaching DBs because you let go of Raymond.

Tell your glass half empty story correctly, if that's the angle you want to play.

Brandon Harris, who you guys hate on often, has done really well in his role at Texas as the GM and pulling Louisiana talent. Add someone like Frank to that, we undoubtedly will have problems with Texas coming into the state and taking players. Can we overcome? Sure, but let's not play this game of "they don't matter". Because out of the athletes' and their parents mouths, Frank clearly matters.

It's almost like we've been going back and forth with this topic for the past 2 weeks because we don't want to rip the bandaid off of knowing that it's better to have Frank on our side, then to recruit against him.

Frank brings nothing to the table for LSU. Why can't people see this?
