Chip Kelly was wildly successful as a college head coach and helped spark all sorts of innovation on and off the field. On Tuesday, about 36 hours after being fired as the 49ers head coach, Kelly told FOX Sports he’s open to coming back to the college game.

“I evaluate all jobs individually,” he said. “I wouldn’t rule anything out.”

“I’ve never said I’m only looking at one thing,” Kelly said. “I will never leave my team when there are games left in the season, so I never looked at college because all those jobs are filled while NFL season is still going on.

Sources have told FOX Sports there are a couple of schools contemplating making coaching changes this month if they could land Kelly.

Minnesota would be a perfect landing spot for him, IMO.

From him to disappear like Rich Rod, I agree.

I absolutely agree. I just think we will stand pat and let him coach next year, go 5-7, pay the reduced buyout and hire some mid major up and comer like Morris. I just don't see us being this aggressive but I hope I'm wrong. Not getting my hopes up.

It would be hilarious if Todd Graham got fired right now after jumping around on so many schools over the years. And I think Kelly could be scary at ASU

Butch won't get fired before 2017 season... and chip may not go for an Adidas school line a&m.

I'm betting he goes back to the p12... Jim mora and Todd graham suck.

I mean he's not going to pass up more money because what brand the jerseys are. That's insanity

I think a number of us said this same thing when some guy made a Chip to Minnesota thread.

Chip's college football reputation is pristine. He certainly doesn't have to slum it up at Minnesota. He can bide his time and wait for the right opportunity. He will be the most coveted coach next season, bar none.

They didn't look good either doing it, Botch has maxed out what he can do at Tennessee.

What's the deal with him not wanting to recruit?

Recruiting is an extremely long, detailed and never ending process in which you constantly travel and beg high school seniors and juniors to pick your school in which no commitment is safe until the kid shows up on campus and if you don't do that portion of the job, you will not last long

I for one would loathe recruiting and honestly I think you have to be a bit of a sociopath to enjoy that process
