The main reason why there are reports that Harbaugh will not take the job at Michigan is because there is already a deal in place for Miles to become the coach.

Miles played at Michigan while Jim Harbaugh's father Jack was coaching at Michigan. Jim H respects his father and isn't going to get in the way of 'Michigan Man Les' becoming the coach.

That's why you haven't heard a peep out of Miles or his camp this time. Not one reporter has asked Miles whether or not he is interested in taking over Michigan. Something is up.

The twisting in the wind of Rodriguez is because they thought LSU would be in a BCS game and done early this week. Rodriguez is finding out his fate shortly.

An AnnArbor.com reporter is reporting that Miles is the favored candidate of the new AD.

This has probably been a done deal for weeks now, since before the Ohio St. drubbing.

Miles probably won't coach LSU in the Cotton Bowl.

I'll bump this when it's appropriate.

Les Miles is God. Not a God, THE GOD. He can't have a perfect season, so he keeps all the games close and pulls out a "lucky" play when he need to. And he only gives himself one super stud player every few years so people don't catch on to his scheme. (Dorsey, then P. Peterson, next Freak Johnson)

Or more likely, he is just a coach who gets lucky and is a good recruiter and is preparing for aTm in the Cotton Bowl and Jim Harbaugh isn't taking the job because he's looking to go coach in the NFL.

No link as I heard it on the Jack Arute and Leach show as well but this is the gist of what was said by the site moderator. Remember they are asking him what scenarios if the Harbaugh deal doesnt happen...

"Take Harbaugh off the list and you have Hoke. Michigan fans don't really know who he is and he would not be the AD's first choice. The next guy lurking is Les Miles...he has the Michigan ties and would be extremely popular with the fanbase and Bill Martin is not there to stand in the way this time"

That, for sure, is false.
