Football Scoop: Potential Purdue candidates

Regarding the first path, we hear Purdue has been able to muster support to demonstrate their commitment to Brohm. Director of athletics Mike Bobinski will ensure Brohm hears the message and sees the numbers. If Brohm wants to stay at Purdue, he will be well rewarded, we are told.
quote:
Alas, should Brohm decide Louisville is where he ultimately wants to make his mark, Purdue will be prepared to execute a search in short order. Sources tell FootballScoop that Purdue officials have their list and will move immediately into interviews should Brohm decide to leave.

Among the coaches we hear have been discussed at the highest levels in West Lafayette are: Neal Brown, Butch Jones, Skip Holtz, Tony Elliott, Matt Canada and Mike Norvell.
quote:
Butch Jones – In three seasons at Central Michigan, Jones won two conference championships. In three seasons at Cincinnati, Jones won two conference championships. In four seasons at Tennessee, following Derek Dooley and facing Nick Saban each year, Jones was not able to win two conference championships, but his teams never lost a game to a non-bowl eligible team and in Years 2-4 his teams finished ranked in the Top 25 each year and won their bowl game. A year on Nick Saban’s staff certainly hasn’t been a bad thing either.
quote:
Jeff Brohm’s decision will likely be known in the next 6 days. Two years ago, before Brohm was hired, Darrell Hazell was on his way out and not many coaches were lining up for this job. Two years later, there is a buzz about the future of Purdue football. How great is that? Stay tuned men….

Papa Saban working his usual magic for Butch.

Half of that list seem like real bad choices .

Butch in the same division as PJ Fleck?
These programs will be rowing the boat to a life championship for years to come.

He's not following Brian Kelley so I doubt he would work out in West Lafayette.

I've got a full chub for Neal Brown as a potential replacement.
G5 head coach. Offensive focused. Has won pretty convincingly at his level. Could be Jeff Brohm 2.0.
All of that said, I don't see Brohm leaving until the NFL comes calling. Make a mistake and go to the wrong program and they'll fire you for 6-6 seasons. At Purdue....we'll name the building after you.

You don't see him going back home to be the hero? And Bobby P left that program in shambles. I'm sure they'll give him time to turn things around.

Damnit. Eagerly clicked this thread hoping Purdue would come after O and E.

Going from Brohm to Butch Jones would depress me and I’m not a Purdue fan
If he leaves, throw everything at Neal Brown

If that’s what he wants...sure.
If he wants to go to the NFL, doesn’t make sense to hit the reset button on a rebuild.
Time will tell. He has it Cush right now though.... will make $4M this year after bonus, will win 7 games at best and still be a hero. He’ll have a roster full of his guys much sooner here as well.

Has Butch been editing his own Wikipedia article again?

I don't think Brohm to Louisville is as clear cut as some think
Posted on 11/21/18 at 6:05 am to cardswinagain
It’s as simple as...does he want to go to his Alma mater? If so...it’s done.
If not, he’s most likely to stay seeing as he already has a decent roster to build on with a great class coming in (that he wouldn’t be done adding to).
That’s the decision. The $$$, facilities and everything else you’d want are there either way he chooses.

He's good. Though you might be back at square 1 in a few years. He played for UK and if anything happens to stoops we will try to get him

He played for Louisville and has an extreme hatred for UK as he was injured while playing the cats. It will take alot of money to keep him
