an above average offensive play caller wins in college when 8 of your 11 starters on offense are NFL draft picks.

I think the more important piece is that Brady + Burrow made the entire team successful. Aranda played a part (great DC, should not be the HC of a top tier school like LSU). Ed motivated everybody, sure, but didn’t do the heavy lifting
All that to say, Brady shouldn’t be the HC of LSU either, not even close, but if Rhule is out In Carolina I could see Brady coming back to be OC

Burrow was a generational talent

I give Brady credit for updating the offense, but just look in the NFL oh, those guys are really really really really really good

He deserves some credit but he’s not some genius football wizard like people make him out to be.
Exactly
He's a replaceable variable. He did great things for LSU for sure but lots of guys could have done similar things. He's not some savant.

Brady made Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Moss, and Helaire better pass catchers and route runners.
Jefferson was already a beast, but the moron coaching staff kept taking Chase out the game. Dude would make a play then here comes the other receivers the next play. Constant swapping of receivers was hurting our offense that year.

Would other OCs have had success with that talent pool?
Most likely.
Would we have had close to the success we had with just E and not bringing in Brady? No definitely not.
And I thjnk We would have been better than 2018, just not all time great offense good.

also consider the level of precision it takes to execute in the NFL. He had that in 2019 at LSU. When you have a roster like that, there's almost nothing you can't do.
I doubt he could walk into a situation where the talent and experience are average and be as successful.

O
Ensminger
Brady
Have never looked as good before or since they did in 2019 with Joe Burrow. It was a perfect storm that never happens without a selfless collaboration between new offensive schemes, the game flow expertise of a savvy vet, and O being just smart enough to GTFO the way.

By the end of 2018 Burrow was the Burrow of 2019 where he just got better.
Yep and I said it before, E had already starting installing the spread offense and RPOs. Go watch that bowl game against UCF, LSU was a lot of shotgun and few RPOs, etc. Brady brought Saints matchup football to the passing game. One thing Brady did to, was improve Jefferson, chase and marshal's ability to catch. Burrow suffered a lot of drops in the 2018 season.

What he was able to accomplish with the wide receivers alone was a game changer for that season.
That magic just failed to be passed along to the other receivers? Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall is maybe the most talented trio we’ve ever had. They thrived in Brady’s system, but he didn’t make them what they are.

One couldn't do it without the other. Full stop.

I’ll go even further...he was the true head coach of that team!

Oh Yeah. His replacement Scott Linehan in 2020 was awesome. ROTFLMAO

Not zero credit but also not majority credit either

Brady was the linchpin for the 2019 success. He made them all better with the drills he brought and required for the WR's and QB over the summer.
I believe each receiver needed to catch 10,000 balls in the off season.
But what does that have to do with anything with a coaching search? Are you suggesting LSU try to hire Brady?

Def those players without Brady.

Burrow in 2018 was nowhere near the Burrow of 2019.
Burrow took that brutal hit in the Fiesta Bowl and it’s like it knocked the light bulb on. He was like a demon possessed from that point on thru the next season. Definitely not the same player.
