I should charge you rent for how much you creep on my posts. I'm flattered you think of me so much.

If you read my other posts, I also said that Jimbo needed to completely overhaul his entire coaching staff (except for Odell/Brewster). Those posts were also before Jimbo made himself available to another coaching search for the third year in a row. Here's what we've learned in the past week:

Jimbo refuses to fire anyone from his coaching staff. Huge flaw. I figured at the end of this year he would clean house -- there is zero indication that was going to happen. Jimbo with a legit coaching staff and a play calling OC is easily a top 5/10 HC, but him taking D. Craig with him to A&M shows how loyal he is to coaches even if the coach can't coach worth a shite. Kelly and Trickett also had jobs for way too many years.

Jimbo was clearly unhappy with the boosters/admin and I had no idea he was that unhappy. Jimbo burned a lot of bridges the past few years and had checked out completely at FSU -- him going to A&M and us hiring Taggart is a huge win for FSU. Again, didn't realize the extent of Jimbo's unhappiness/burning bridges until this past week.

If you look at the numbers the past three years, Jimbo has been extremely mediocre with some incredible talent. Will he be able to pull the same talent at A&M? Probably not. So why have we been so damn mediocre the past three years with an incredible amount of talent? Coaching. Trickett and Kelly are awful and should have been fired after we got hammered by Houston in the Chick Fil A bowl. Jimbo also refuses to give up play calling even, which is a whole other issue.

If Jimbo goes to A&M and hires a legit coaching staff by bringing in a legit DC (e.g. Pruitt) and if he brings in an OC that he gives up play calling duties to, I think A&M he will have success at A&M. Jimbo with a legit coaching staff is a top 5/10 HC. Burnt out Jimbo looking for an easy paycheck from a school willing to pay him 7.5 million and is so loyal to bad assistant coaches is not a top 5/10 HC.

The other issue is that Jimbo just left the ACC to join the SECW. A&M is a 4th or 5th tier program in the SECW and Saban is not going anywhere any time soon. If A&M was in the SECE then Jimbo would be able to get A&M in some SEC title games even with shitty assistant coaches, but not in the SECW.

tldr; Jimbo is still a top 5/10 HC if he hires a legit coaching staff. History has shown that he won't. Even with a legit coaching staff he is still in the SECW and he very likely never sniff an SEC title game with Saban at Alabama.
