Good points. But you can't ignore what going on with Jimbo now. You can't just assume that you plug him in here and VIOLA! Go through a thorough interview process. DONT crown someone the savior. Be bold enough to go with the less popular pic if it fits.

He's been working hard on this one analysis. Beyond that, I'm not sure he knows much else. He's making an assumption based on one game. He didn't even know that his golden boy's offense has been very mediocre this year against some pretty bad teams.
abellsur
I didn't work hard at all. I've watched FSU all season, and some games I've re-watched. I merely had to ask myself, whether what I saw in the 1st of Clemson, was consistent with what I saw vs other power 5 opponents. It is consistent. No need for me post detailed analysis of every power 5 game this season. If the sample is consistent with what I've observed all season, then the sample is reliable enough for me to formulate a fair opinion. If you disagree, I respect that. But my opinion is not knee jerk

Not saying that you called him a savior. Just stating my point. I will add, that safe obviously doesn't necessarily equate to best

Fans are emotional creatures. It not their jobs to be logical. You hit em with logic and Xs and Os, you lose that battle every time. Its a fan board. Not many here have enough working knowledge to give your opinions adequate wait. But I like it.

quote:How can you say he's not the best option? You've given no names of other coaches you think are better. I thought you would at least have someone else who you've watched that you think is better. Your past posts show that you defend Herman like crazy. If you think that's the guy, say so. You've been extremely vague other than you one game analysis. You talk about new age offenses, yet you've given no examples of people who run it.
afe obviously doesn't necessarily equate to best
Is Briles your guy?

I actually read it...
The Cook TD came off a few pass interference calls and the 22 yd underneath route that I mentioned (out of the spread). The open offense set up the score.

****OBSERVATION - ALSO ATTEMPTED TO GIVE QB QUICK LOOKS - ROUTE COMBO TOO BASIC UNTIL 1:02:00 MARK
Spread 3WR underneath Shallow route. great call 22 yds
Pro-Style - Lead 8 yds gain (Red zone)
Pro-Style - 2yd TD

Yep that's the Jimbo I know. People forget when he was here they wanted him fired. But but that was Les Miles doing that to him. Well well he has that same problem with the I formation on first down at FSU as he had with LSU. I like him better than almost anyone else but I don't like his play calling at times.

I've stated my opinion. Its been clear. (1) I dont think Jimbo is the best fit (2) Go through the complete process and be willing to bring in a less "popular" guy; and (3) go with whatever the "process" reveals is best.
Those are opinions.

He was the same damn coach at LSU and these idiots are on their knees for him. His play calling literally lost the Auburn game in 2006.

We ran horizontal stretches when he was here. Remember all the bubble screens? Tunnel screens? Our qb did run under jimbo when we had a dual threat. Randall ran. Mauck ran option and qb draws. Skyler green had jet sweeps which are horizontal stretches. Jumbo knows how to attack weaknesses and exploit matchups.

That's a drive from the 1st half.
My post was clearly talking about their 2 TDs in the 3rd qtr. So again, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at.
