LINKSOURCES: #LSU DC Dave Aranda has emerged as the focus of the #UNLV head coaching search and a deal could be sorted out as early as within the next 24 hours.

Lots of DCs sitting at home to pick from. Blessing in disguise if we get someone elite.

I just can’t see Dave leaving for a school unless it’s a power 5 school

Dave should have a chat with Dewayne Walker regarding taking a dead end job like that as a rising coordinator

Just saw a screenshot of a text exchange with a starting linebacker saying Aranda told them he’s leaving a couple weeks ago.

If this is the truth, I wonder what it means. Did O tell him to look elsewhere? Did he know he wanted HC all the way back around Bama time?
Just hope this doesn't harm recruiting...

A few years ago I would have agreed with you but from the looks of college football and the NFL there's more of a premium being put on offensive coaches than defensive coaches at the moment. I think UNLV can be a great job if the school makes the financial commitment which is something I assume they are promising Aranda.

I’ve always kind of questioned the dynamic between he and O

I def never saw him staying here 4 years so im grateful for that. He was vital as we transitioned into the O era.

12-0 regular season. SEC Champs. #1 team in the country.

O can do whatever TF he wants right now.

Aranda killed it at LSU. I’ll forgive him a rough patch here or there.

I fully expect Aranda to be a great HC. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at LSU in a few years, assuming O only coaches into his sixties.

Lane Kiffin did well at FAU which was a program that had less life in it than most of the residents of Boca. So it can be done. Now is Aranda the person to do it at UNLV and is UNLV willing to do what it takes? Who knows.

However, if UNLV does decide to do what it takes then they have a leg up on most of the G5 schools. They are moving into a brand new NFL stadium that is not far from their campus, they are in a state with no P5 schools, and did I forget to mention they are located in f**king VEGAS!
