That's a lot of superfluous writing just to say "FSU has given Fisher it's final offer and we may or may not know something today."

From this morning:

quote:

Thursday, Nov. 30 @ 9:30 a.m.

Not a whole lot has changed since last night in terms of Jimbo Fisher's status. At this point it's patiently obvious that he's gone for Texas A&M. It's now past the point of no return. The final straw was losing three significant recruits on Wednesday. The only question is how does FSU handle this situation going forward?

The overwhelming, if not unanimous, sentiment in the Moore Athletic Center is that he should not coach Saturday. There is concern that the environment in Doak Campbell could be toxic with Fisher on the sideline. Considering how a fan acted during a censored and staged call-in show on Wednesday night, the fear is things could get really ugly in the stands on Saturday.

The hope among administrators is that this situation gets wrapped up this afternoon or tonight. Florida State can't fire Fisher but needs to find a way to expedite his departure and make the transition as painless as possible for all parties. I'm not sure how that might be implemented but we will hopefully have more later on how this might be done.

The most interesting thing I've been hearing over the last 24 hours is how long the courtship between Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M may have been going on. As you know, we reported back in October that that Fisher was going to be the Aggies' primary candidate should Sumlin get fired. However, I've been hearing more that this process may have begun even before that, probably back in September shortly after Labor Day weekend (after UCLA upset A&M).

What I don't know is what this early contact consisted of. It may have just been some informal feelers from A&M to Fisher's agent. However, it could have also been active negotiations or it's possible there was even a tacit agreement or some type of hand-shake deal. The latter would certainly explain how poorly this season played out -- if Fisher had one foot out the door for months.

Lsu is stupid for not hiring Jimbo last year. He is a better coach than O and there’s no debating that. This just guarantees we finish 3rd in the West consistently behind Saban and Jimbo. May finish 2nd every now and then but we get what we pay for and 3 or lower in the West will be the norm from here on out for the O era. Thanks Joe you fricking idiot.

Refreshing to see a rational Tiger fan, so few of them on here. The west will be brutal for the next 5 years, anyone that says they're happy to be riding with O into those games are just being dishonest.

Yeah he’s only right behind saban and Meyer in win percentage this decade. Of course he won’t donas well as tamu. It’s the facking faggies.

I'd hate to see Jimbo at A&M, but he's such a primadonna. Who would want to deal with his leaving not leaving BS every year? Didn't we go through that with Saban, and finally he did leave.

Even though he's only 52 years old, I'd say aTm is likely Jimbo's final coaching location. I guess maybe if Saban retires in a couple of years, they might go after Jimbo if Dabo says no.

There will be idiots that melt, that's a given.

But to say every happy/ OK with O at the helm at this time is dishonest is simply not true. Orgeron has a better record than Miles the past few seasons did with less talent.

Lots of positive energy and momentum now, that often wasn't the case with Miles.

FIFY.

So fricking mediocre since Jameis. Noles fans are thrilled he’s finally ending his bullshite and leaving, and they should be. His piss poor results aren’t worth this garbage every year at the end of the season.

You have an issue with winning 10 games consistently?

Damn, are you expecting Coach O to be in the Hall of Fame someday or something with those standards?

Thursday, Nov. 30 @ 2:45 p.m. I know there's been some recent scuttlebutt again that Fisher may be reversing course again and staying at FSU. I would find that would be incredibly surprising, if not shocking. We've been told he's already set to fly out to College Station on Sunday with the introductory press conference scheduled for Monday. And we've heard that running backs coach Jay Graham, director of operations Mark Robinson and quarterback assistant Dameyune Craig will go with him.

Hopefully we can land Brewster too but I’m sure will have to compete with other schools. Craig Brewster and Banks if he stayed on would be quite the recruiting force

I was stoked when we hired Craig but he turned out to be pretty underwhelming. Brewster would be a home run.

I will be as upset as you can be about missing on a position coach if we don’t end up getting Brewster

A&M made the same decision Michigan made with Harbaugh. Are they overpaying? Only time will tell.

Good point. Harbaugh shows over-spending for a HC doesn't equal success.

_______

That’s such a great point!

Underspending is the only way to win at football. Just like recruiting, building a roster with four and five stars is no guarantee of anything.

Winners don’t swing for the fences, they bunt to the pitcher.
