only college coach worth 8 million is nick saban
No College Coach is worth 8 Million. Give me a researcher who's trying to cure Cancer or something over someone who is a baby-sitter to teen, self entitled prima donnas who could give a shite about getting an education.
College football is a big money business, and that money does go back into the university. It doesn't interfere with the research and academia at big universities. If anything, by increasing the marketing and awareness of the campus, it aids that university, even outside of direct money-making.
Is 8 mil a lot? Yes, it is; but that can has already been opened by Alabama and Texas.

Payton with the Saints is the highest paid football coach in the country at $8M a yr. And he's not showing, this year anyway, that he's worth it. NO coach is. But then, again, according to Little Nicky, it's never about the money.

Where did that tool go that was telling me that the local guys didn't have the inside scoop and we had to listen to Rapoport because he knows michigan sports better than the michigan beat writers???
I wonder if he would like to change his tune like his nfl beat writers?

Is this a joke or do you really not know? Rapoport is an NFL Insider for NFL Network and is one of the best insiders in pro football. He is always on top of everything with great sources. He runs circles around some college beat writer. And it's not like it's just him either, multiple NFL people have said for weeks now Harbaugh isn't leaving the NFL and most likely not even leaving the West Coast and doesn't want to. Not new news.
Ultimatehog???? what say you now? Is it back on because Rapoport says?

Who leaked this offer? Jim did because Michigan sure as hell didn't. Why would Jim leak this info if he wanted the job? He won't go to Michigan because he wouldn't have leaked it otherwise.
This is what I'm thinking. Michigan gains nothing with this leak. Jim does.

It is best to remember that Harbaugh is a devout jerk. What I think is going on here is the set up of a bidding war for Harbaugh who still has one more year left on his contract at SF. My guess is that he winds up in NY with Jets or Giants or with the Chicago Bears. They deserve this a-hole. They will have to give up something in the form of a trade to SF. I never thought Harbaugh would trade his lifestyle in the NFL for that of college coaching which is a full time 12 month job.
By leaking the details of his proposed deal to Michigan, this puts everyone else in the position of being seconds. Not good for Michigan.
Michigan went after Harbaugh to say they tried. Just wonder what will happen to the others on their list, knowing that someone else turned the job down.
After Harbaugh, seems to me they have to turn to Miles. Will be interesting to watch this play out.

If you were Harbaughs agent, who would you leak the info to?

Good question. I just think Michigan would have kept a lid on it.
I think the leaks came from a "michigan" source (just cannot see benefit for a real michigan source), but if I am looking at it right, didn't these reports start with Ian Rapoport?
Again, it probably originated from somewhere else, but I am too internet handicapped to check.

No, Sam Webb had it Monday. Rappaport poopoo'd the whole thing until he couldnt anymore.

Interesting, for sure. If he decides to stay in the NFL, shite gets real for Miles. If the UM search falls apart, as many searches do, Miles might be the default choice. "Momma's calling, Les. And she's in a world of hurt."
LSU is totally screwed in this situation.

Been told this guy is about as reliable as the National Enquirer.

Well Im not sure how much that matters since he was proven to be correct.

This was leaked by Harbaugh's agent to get all the offers on the table as quickly as possible. Now that the report is out there and media is running with it, the pressure will be put on other teams to try to negotiate:
1) with Baalke for the trade
2) with Harbaugh's agent for the new contract
otherwise SF could stonewall and drag it all out taking the Michigan "leverage" away and putting all of the negotiation control back in SF's hands. If Michigan moves on then Harbaugh has no "out" and either quits, comes back to SF or sits out and goes to court with SF over breaching his contract.

the "report" that came out originated here from some dude named Joe Pequeno in Arizona:
Joe Pequeno CBS 5
Michigan 247 site post from last night
quote:
Per a report from CBS reporter Joe Pequeno out of KPHO in Phoenix, Arizona, Michigan's offer to Jim Harbaugh is for six years and 49 million dollars.
If these numbers are correct, it would make Harbaugh the highest paid coach in college football. Nick Saban at Alabama is currently the highest paid coach in the NCAA at 7.3 million/year. Those numbers at 8+ million/year would also make him the highest paid coach in either college or the NFL, as Sean Payton in New Orleans and Pete Carroll in Seattle make an even 8 million/year.
dont know why anyone officially with Michigan would leak it, unless they know Harbaugh wont take the job and are just trying to appease their fanbase

This drags on into early to mid-january they will have to move on

Like Ive said like 3 times today. Sam Webb reported it on Monday. He was the first to put the numbers out there.
