Muschamp scares me more on the field than in recruiting. Not saying that he's bad at it, just that Kiffy was pretty good at it. Muschamp is the better coach.

Muschamp should take the job at TN, then bail on them to Texas ASAP

Why the frick would he work for a weenie at Tennessee when he can work at UT and run one of the richest programs in all of sports in a few years?

I dont either, but Mack may be around for 3-4 more years, dont know if he wants to wait that long...and Tenn is a pretty good job...

We need Tenn to play good football. Alabama's permanent opponent each year!

I would wait three but any more is asking a lot and I would want a guarantee in writing. Tenn isn't a chump job! I bet Muschamp really thinks about it and you know Texas is going to him and talking to him trying to reassure him, they don't want to lose him.

Just curious, what was Kiffin's salary last season?

Muschamp was paid $900,000 as a coordinator. I don't know but I bet Texas goes a bit higher if they feel we may lose him.

Pretty sure they could afford it.

I agree. Mack's record at Texas is 128-26. Royal's record is 167-47-5. I think he stays long enough to become UT's all time wins leader. 3-4 years.

They are gonna have to pay him about 1.5 mill to stay at UT....book it... and get a huge bonus if Mack doesnt retire with in 3 years...dont know if mack wants to be told when to leave either...

Mehh, Kiffin had some lights-out recruiters on his staff. In fact, he had more recruiters than real coaches.

If Muschamp is patient, he can coach a perennial national title contender at Texas.

Tenn through history, contends every how many years? Especially in the Florida dominated last decade.

Outside of the Manning era and subsequent Martin-led title, then one last run when Mauck and Tigers derailed them..how far back must you go to when the Vols flirted with hardware?

Texas oozes talent, plays in a two horse or three horse conference tops.

Tenn, must import it's talent, and plays in the SEC.

I'd wait. If Mack refuses to ever set a date. Muschamp is a hot commodity, another elite platform will come available again.

I thought the same thing, so I looked for it. Florida and Tennesse have won the SEC east the same amount of times

I'm talking about national title contention..not SEC or SEC East.

Texas is in the race almost every year the last decade.

The gap between the quality of those two jobs had widened appreciably the last decade. Even though Tenn is a historical top fifteen program.
