That scares me a lot more than Kiffen when it comes to recruiting

Agreed. I was really hoping Kiffen would be around for several years to really screw things up at UT.

While true, and blocked by Stoops OU many years, look how many 10+ seasons for Texas the last decade. That is national title contention, even if OU puts an L on you in the first 4 to 6 weeks.

Tenn is behind the 8-ball vs Fla and UGa, with the modern day talent those two states produce, even if they pilfer Georgia and Florida state talent.

Before last year(5-7) Tennessee was the second winningest program of the modern era behind Oklahoma, so enough of the "Tennessee job is a significant step down" BS.

Tenn is fab job..top ten to fifteen alltime program in most all criteria..but it's not Texas.

And as long as Urban is at Fla, or they hire an elite mind..usually gonna be playing for 2nd place.

I'm not arguing that. I just thought Florida would have been more dominant. Then again, we had to play Tenn to get to the NC a couple of seasons ago. It took a blocked FG for Bama to beat them this year, and Florida sqeaked by 23-13. The only bad Conference loss they had was to Ole Miss. I think there is more potential there than we are willing to give them credit sometimes. Also, they manage to recruit nationally.

I just don't know if Muschamp is made of the right cloth to be the HC at Texas. I think he would be a better fit at Tenn.

Nobody is saying that UT sucks. Texas is just a better job. Bigger state, fertile recruiting, more money. more alumni, etc, etc...

Why the frick would he work for a weenie at Tennessee when he can work at UT and run one of the richest programs in all of sports in a few years?

cause he can take the head gig and $$$ at Tenn then still bail on them when Brown retires. best of both worlds

muschamp would be smart to stay at texas. you basically don't have to leave the state to recruit wheras at tennessee you have to recruit nationally more than any other program. from what i've read muschamp knows this and will be staying.
