yeah, and Terry Foster is hearing the same story with the same incredible details, e.g., Desmond Howard impersonator. So, it seems like there is some truth to it. And Terry is saying he has spoken to ESPN execs.

And you're right about the publicity. This site is now being referenced in Terry Foster's blog. And so are you, belowpar.

well my "source" also said he got it from ESPN execs, but I can't verify that so I can't say its 100% correct.

The words "expose" and "Herbstreit" should never be used in the same sentence.

So, belowpar, what's the hold up on the DC position? Or is it a done deal and you're not telling us? I think that might be the case and that's fine. If you think it's best to hold off on telling us, then certainly do. I understand.

if Tenuta is not announced soon after GT loses their bowl game, then i would think that the promotion from within would be likely. I think that will be a telling sign. Or, if Tenuta takes another job before we announce a hire, but that is obvious.

Honestly, I think that Les has decided on Tenuta in principle, but he is going to wait to make official after GT's game. He sure would look like a hypocrite if he hired him now.

Other signs:

If Tenuta holds a press conference the day of their game and says, "I'm busy, have a nice day," we might not be the team for him.

But, since it has already been said that he won't be retained, and he isn't actively shopping for or linked to any other jobs, I think he's ours.

Calm down everyone. Les has proven (((( BETER THAN ANY LSU COACH IN 47 YEARS)))))) to make great assistant coaching decisions. There is NO hurry on Tenuta or anyone else. We are busy..... preparing to win a National Championship. I hope it is Teunta, but we don't need any distractions until after Jan. 7th.

Terry Foster blogged again and reiterated that a disgruntled ESPN employee is considering blowing open the Herbstreit story. I am still waiting for it to break.

I am willing to sacrifice one ESPN employee for Herbie's butt. He has no business being on the air after pulling something like that. I am surprised you LSU guys aren't storming the ESPN headquarters. Well, you guys have probably settled down by now.

Why would LSU fans be upset with Herby? He screwed things up so bad, he gave Les no options.

After he screwed up, he also threw his support for LSU to be in the Championship game (probably out of guilt).

Thanks Herby

He did nothing wrong. He was told a story from a good source and he leaked it because ESPN told him to. He will not get fired and probably wont even be put on probation.

Herbie is a rising star with ESPN. They will do nothing to him, and to me, he seems sincerely contrite that he blew the story and jammed Les on SEC Championship day. He may have to retract and make a statement, and then it is over. He will be ABC's main man on sports.

Bottom line on this is that there is no way in hell that Herbie went on the air without permission from the higher ups in ESPN. It appears his reporting sux and may have been inaccurate but he had permission!
