Surprising. Maybe it with Sloan and Hankton as co-OCs.

Just going to call a spade a spade, Denbrock strikes me as a huge Midwestern dickhead who wears short sleeves in the snow and brags about how it isn’t cold. He reeks of being a lifelong midwesterner as much as Ed Orgeron reeks of being a Louisiana coonass. He never seemed to like it here, to attempt to remotely connect with the fanbase or city, or really anything else so I’m not surprised as dumb of a career move as I think this is for him

What?

I never got this vibe at all in fact heard the opposite from everyone who personally interacted with him

Probably back home.

Doesn’t mean he didn’t try to ingrain himself in the culture while he was here.

If I get big money to come back home doesn’t mean I hated the place I’m leaving.

Because I’m sure you know dozens and dozens of people who’ve met and interacted with Denbrock on a daily basis considering he was basically nonexistent outside of the football program in his time here. How bizarre to act like you’ve heard so much about Mike Denbrock on a personal level and are having daily conversations with people about someone who’s one of the least interesting personalities to ever step foot in the program

But I’m sure your sources are 100% right, the guy who just left LSU to coach at ND for a likely pay cut when he had every bit of talent, every assistant coach, and every resource he could’ve ever needed must’ve just loved and soaked up the south and Louisiana get real

This is what happens whenever you have elite offenses. Coaches get plucked. I rather lose Denbrock than Hankton, Frank, Sloan, or Brad.

Plus House & d staff will be let go after the bowl game. Same time that NFL has coaching change.

I was saying yesterday that his has been the dullest coaching change season in recent memory. Then BOOM, this shite happens.

What makes you think he took a pay cut? ND doesn't skimp on its coordinators - Al Golden is reputed to be one of the top five highest paid DCs in college football. I'd be amazed if he left for less than he had agreed in his proposed new (unsigned) LSU contract.
