He is constantly protecting his QB from implosion. The QB is incapable of pushing the team to win games, so he has to manage that.

Beat Nebraska by 7
Beat WVU by 3
Beat K State by 6
Beat Texas by 7 (was losing 41-23 with 1 minute left in 3rd Qtr)
Beat Kansas by 12 (Kansas beat S. Dakota by 3 and lost their other games by 27, 38, 19, 52, 27 and 52)
Riley is our top target and he's underperformed against a very weak schedule this season. He's still my #1 choice, but unless he coaches better OU is getting destroyed as soon as they face a quality team.

They've dominated 2 games. They've won by less than 1 score 4 or 5 times now. They were blown out by a bad Texas team. This is not the coach we want here. UL has had 3 years with the best recruits in the Sunbelt. They shouldn't be blow out wins, but they should be better than 1-6 point wins.

no shite, UL is in the Sun BELT and has way less talent than SEC.
not every game will be a blow out, there will be close games. but a good coach most of time will find a way to comeback or win the close games.

I get the immediate response to the game but let’s face it if ULL has even a decent QB they have the game salted away in the first half. That QB is freaking horrible.

I don’t see why people think he’ll take a Big 10 job like TCU. The man was offered two SEC jobs last year, and has only strengthened his resume with this season lol.

That's hyperbole and I said he's my top choice. You can't argue that he isn't underperforming though. There's a reason he's undefeated but only #8 in the CFP rankings.
The point is that Riley is an offensive genius and QB guru and even he is looking underwhelming right now.
Jimbo beat Bama and lost to Arky and at home to MSU.
I agree that Napier is a risk and he's not helped himself with these close games. That's why I have him around 3 or 4 on my list of coaches. Right now I'm at:
Riley
Jimbo
Aranda
Napier and Tucker
I'm just pointing out that there are no perfect choices.
