Serious question: How the hell was BDP such a good recruiter? He's a squirly looking, bald, middle aged white man and he is not a very good coach.

I have asked this so many times

This would be an outstanding hire. His energy, NFL experience, and familiarity with the region, could turn him into one hell of a recruiter.

He's a players coach. They will love him. Again I don't think he's accepted the full time gig yet

Bobby April will continue to serve as #LSU's SPT consultant thru the bowl. He has not been hired as a full-time assistant, source confirms.

His ST units have been really up and down. He also hasn't coached in college in like 30 years.

How soon people forget O fired him less than 24 hours after getting the HC gig.

Guy was an awful coach

Tons of enthusiasm & experience. If not a home run at least a triple!

I hope he sticks around in the consulting role. He has a ton of experience at different levels. That's the kind of guy you want scouting opponents and helping the staff prepare gameplans.

He was a consultant most of the year and the ST's still sucked. Not crazy about this hire. Between April and Jenkins you have really old people that won't recruit.
The ST seemed to improve right after O took over, especially the punter. Gamble just lost the strength on his kicks somehow, so kickoffs were always short.

Surely he's keeping that spot empty so he gets the extra recruiting visits (for O) and April is hired as ST Coord after signing day, right?

If that's the case, this is the first coaching change in a long time that made it move.

I'm warming up to Canada - I agree with O that Aranda is one of, if the not the, best DC in CFB and now penciling in April as the presumptive ST Coordinator for 2017 - maybe it is happening?

Is this from that same website that posted Les Miles was interviewing for the OC position at Alabama?

I think BDP is good with the moms. For some reason women love the Pevs.

I don't understand it but I've seen it with my own eyes. The man gets more hugs than Mickey Mouse.

He hasn't coached college since 1990. Looks like he's jumped around the NFL a lot and hasn't had any real success since his tenure in Buffalo ended in 2009.

He's been fired like 10-15 times but the good news is he has been hired 10-15 times as well.
Titans just fired him in 2016
