So everyone is saying " wow, homerun hire!!" .....
If so, why has he had so many different gigs???

Not trying to be negative, I just don't know much about him and that doesn't make sense...

He's had good special teams and horrid special teams, but he's got to be better than BDP.

ST coach is where you'd like to see a young up-and-comer rather than a retread.

If this is true, let's hope his ST at LSU resemble his Bills teams and not his Rams teams.

His NFL career has been up-and-down. I hope we catch him on the up.

For what it's worth, league is approving one more position coach on the team in January, so that could be one extra recruiting coach there.

it's NFL, it will happen to most just a matter of when. Doesn't mean he cannot do well at college.

Hes a ST guy. They move around a ton depending on other coordinators and coaches that come and go.

Hes been in the NFL 25+ years.

Last time LSU plucked a special teams coach from the NFL, his name was Thomas McGaughey.

Worked out pretty well if I remember correctly

April, a 63-year old who has not coached in college since 1990, would replace Bradley Dale Peveto, who coach Ed Orgeron fired on his first day of having the permanent head coaching job on Nov. 26. April has served as a consultant for LSU's special teams this year.

Didn't know that

Orgeron and him are friends and I believe he was called after O took over as interim to try and help BDP with the unit.

So Ogeron is already ahead of the curve with his "shadow staff"?
