This is the perfect situation for him. His alma mater is calling. They are fractured up in Michigan. They went outside the Bo coaching tree last time and they need a Bo disciple to come put it back together again. They need him. I wish him the best of luck. He may have had his faults, but even then some fans were still not fair to him. I wish that hadn't been the case.

I never thought he would actually leave but that video is very telling. I don't think a person who was trying to negotiate a new contract would react the way he did.

His expressions were more telling for me than his denial.

Bring on the search for a new head coach.

what he really said ""I have not been contacted by anyone from the University of Michigan about Les Miles. Les Miles is LSU's head coach and we are going to do everything we can to keep it that way. He has had great success here and we plan to keep enjoying that success under his leadership."

Okay... I just watched the video. The second time through.. when Coach Miles paused before saying, "It's a wonderful place".. I felt the sting of tears in my eyes.

At the very very best, he knows he's going to have to sit down and talk with all these people and then make a difficult decision. At worst, the decision is made.

Les Miles is so out of here.

Jim Kleinpeter nailed it yesterday in one line... "On the other hand, I believe Les has gotten tired of being criticized during a 10-win season." LINK

That video doesn't indicate that he's definitley gone to Michigan. But it does indicate that whether he'll be back here is an open question at this point. I'm sure lots of talking between Michigan and Miles and LSU and Miles will be going on in the next couple of days.

That's what I am hoping for. I can't really think that Les Miles is the man that made this level of decision in the midst of preparations for the Cotton Bowl, when as he said, that was his sole focus.

Also, if he HAD already made the decision, I think he would have gone ahead and told the team. I don't think he'd lead them on, since he was denied a final meeting with his last team. I don't think he'd ever want that to happen with this team....

I wish him the best if he leaves and there is no doubt in my mind we are going to be fine. What I wouldn't autotaketothebank is this freindly give em time attitude some think Michigan will be. I think outside of AL and ND, this could be the most expecting job in the country and if he doesn't do it up to their standards this could suck for Les.

But, because he is following Rich Rod and not Saban, I think more UM fans will be willing to accept him and give him a chance. That didn't happen with alot of LSU fans when he got here. There are still people who want him fired right now who never embraced the guy and it has nothing to do with results. It's because he's not Saban. Michigan fans wouldn't have that attititude since Saban never coached there and won a national title. And he'd be following a coach who had an overall losing record.

Woooooooow...

That's the most telling thing I've seen/heard thus far. Can't believe more people haven't been talking about this clip.

I could've baked a cake during that pause.

Good find.

I can agree with you there. It will be a much easier follow, but he will have to win and he can't have the typical dipshit move per year.

I still think the term "NegaTiger" is the most ignorant thing to ever come about on this board. The majority of the people that get referred to as a "NegaTiger" are people that understand that recruiting and signing National Championship talent is VERY difficult to do which there is NO doubt that Les has been able to do. The problem is that this talent is not developed, the players are not put in the best situations to have success on the field. I have never played football in my life and I can tell you what play LSU is going to run about 75-80% of the time before the snap based on our personnel groupings and/or formation and I know plenty of people that can do that as well. If this is possible by someone who has never even played ball, I can only imagine what the other coaches get out of this information. Miles has spent the last 10 years being a head coach in MAJOR college football, but yet almost at least one time every game a situation presents itself in which he is not prepared for. His attention to detail is completely unacceptable for the amount of money that LSU supporters have to spend on tickets/clothing/vehicle accessories. As far as recruiting goes, in all honesty if I am a major offensive stud coming out of High School, there is NO way I come to LSU based on the lack of offensive production both in individual and team stats and that is only compounded by the lack of development of players. So, my concern is the fact that player's talents are not being maximized through coaching/play design/play calling. This SHOULD reflect terribly on recruiting and if it doesn't that would lead me to believe that LSU is obviously paying players. Either of these scenarios is a negative reflection on the LSU athletics program. So, I contend that my dislike of Les Miles as the LSU Head Coach promotes a positive change for LSU and if anyone is going to be what idiots on this board call a "positiger", it would be someone who wants what is best for LSU in the short AND long term. Because, I believe that if LSU was coached perhaps 5-10% better this year, we could very easily be in the National Title game.

I have a $300 bottle of scotch a friend and I have agreed to open up and enjoy once we hear of Miles's exit from LSU. This will not be a joyous moment for us but a moment to commiserate over the departure of a coach with more wins under his oversized hat than any coach except Chollymac and Bernie Moore--and a much better winning percentage than either (Note to LSU Athletic Department: Always hire head coaches with last names starting in 'M').

Now I have a feeling I'm going to taste that fine dram very soon.

He even had a little smirk on his face before he answered. He's gone, and he's probably sick of the fan base to be perfectly honest

Dude, think about all the things Miles was criticized for during his stay here, simply because people didn't want him here to begin with. I don't think he'll have to put up with that type of disdain in Michigan.
