Looks like the poster was correct. BIG mistake by Kelly IMO.

the wording is as if Kelly let him go. Not Baker just leaving for DC job.

Agreed.

I'm still aligned until I see everything shake out but man, I really hope things shake out well

Why didn't he retain the entire staff that had a terrible year and let the inmates control the asylum?!!!!!! Daronte and Calloway better be named Co head coaches soon to fix this!!!!

Yeah. I haven’t been a fan of any of Kelly’s moves besides bringing Frank in and retaining Coach Davis. It feels like he’s letting good coaches go without adequate replacements.

Any interest in retaining coaches from the last two years baffles me. I’m going to trust BK’s evaluation more than OPs. You think Kelly fires guys for giggles?

Is this really that surprising to people? Kelly is running the offensive side of the ball so the fact he is keeping some of the staff makes sense because he is in control of the offense.

If the DC will have full control of the defense wouldn't it make sense to let him get the coaches he wants in place? I'm not saying Baker is a bad coach or anything. I am just saying it feels like we need to let all this stuff shake out and see what the final staff looks like before panicking.

Oh so you know the replacements? Can you tell us who they are and why they aren’t “adequate”?

Man we got people melting over a proven hc not keeping the staff of a team that went 6-6. It wasn’t just peetz and orgeron that was the issue. Let the man hire his staff. There is more then 1 good db coach. 1 good lber coach. Shouldn’t the new coach be able to hire who he thinks will do the best for his team.
This also doesn’t take into account that Raymond wanted the title that Wilson got. Or that baker may get a dc position.
