Kelly is building a championship program from the ground up. Nobody knows how screwed up lsu really was. There is no culture. That’s why Palmer was told to leave. Just like BK said. It’s going to be on the players to hold other players accountable. You can’t do that with bad apples.

ANOTHER big mistake (if he’s not leaving for a DC job).

Word out a Gainesville West “USL”. Baker is going to UF as the Associate Head coach of the inside linebackers

Why wasn’t baker ever considered for the DC job?

I realize he was demoted by Miami, but was there ever a point where he produced a good defense!

Look at the UF staff? They liberally hand out Associate Head coaching titles.

Outside of Frank, the special teams coach and strength coach we really don't know how the hires will be.

He is letting some good coaches go.

LSU is 11-11 in its last 22 games, 8-10 in its last 18 SEC games and by virtue of losing to Auburn, finished last in the SEC West in 2021. That’s unacceptable. No one on the coaching staffs of the last 2 seasons should be mistaken for elite coaches.

And for the record, Blake Baker ended up at LSU after essentially being demoted at Miami. He did a good job with Damone Clark and the linebacker play improved late in the season. But let’s not act like LSU just lost Bill Belichick.

he's a great recruiter, and Damone Clark looked a lot better than he did previously, even under Aranda... was that Baker's doing? don't know exactly, but it ain't nothing, especially the recruiting part... 2 of our better recruiters have now left, and while we did get Frank back, he can't recruit everybody

Why don’t you wait and see who gets hired before you panic? If he’s hiring a DC who specializes in LBs, then so be it.

I’m tired of good recruiters who are so-so coaches. He did a good job with 1 player. What about the others? LSU’s linebacker play was iffy for 2/3 of the season outside of Clark.

If losing Raymond, Baker, Jones and anyone else off the staff is the cost of getting rid of Orgeron, so be it. Brian Kelly has won a lot of games in his career and he has a chance to do that here and possibly win titles with access to talent he’s never had access to before. He’s not off to a great start with hiring coaches and recruiting is a little behind. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt and let him coach a game and probably a season before turning on him.

That’s strange timing when he’s still recruiting key recruits.

the 2 aren't mutually exclusive, clearly, as they were all still on staff, while Orgeron was fired...

there really was no reason we couldn't get rid of Orgeron and keep whoever we want out of the coaches still here... Kelly didn't want those guys, so yeah, let's see if it pans out for him, and conversely, how those guys do at other schools... i have my concerns, but the sky isn't exactly falling yet

Do you blame everyone who went to other schools on him? Weird that he only gets credit for those thinking about coming here.

Brian Kelly cleans house just like me...

very slowly. it takes me forever too.

Just a joke, kinda. It does take me forever to clean the house. If we're still in purgatory Jan 14th I'll get worried then.

I bet he doesn’t. Our LB depth is horrible and he has a chance to play a lot by year 2.
