Or does he stay on staff in some capacity?

There's no spots left on defense to begin with. I'm sure he and Peetz will find quality control jobs in the NFL

Hate to see Daronte go. All things considered I think he did a great job. Also only being on staff a year I don’t think he’s on that “culture change” list. I’m with you though I don’t see him being unemployed long. Wish him the best in his new endeavors if it’s not here at LSU.

I think Peetz would excel as one of those professional madden players

Daronte can probably get a job anywhere now that he’s got the greatest 3 game defensive stretch in football history on his resume

I hate this take. A great job compared to what? 2020?

LSU had one of its worst defenses of the past 20 years. Dorante's defense was responsible for a number of losses. I don't care if he improved over the course of the season. He didn't improve enough, and had no business in this position from the get go. Good riddance!

Glad Kelly isn't as emotional as some of our fans

It's kind of odd how there are people who are desperate to keep the staff responsible for the worst two year stretch at LSU since the 90s.

A lot of people feel like he didn’t have control over things in the beginning and when O let go he got to show what he could do.

Who knows what the whole truth is, but I ‘m fine letting someone else figure it out

We have lowers the definition of great so far.

He got his arse pushed in making no adjustments until after lane called O. Then had a nice 3 game stretch and then last night happened. Our D was pretty damn bad. I could maybe buy saying he did an ok job.

Let’s face it ppl are praising and carry the torch for Jones for one reason. They are scared to be honest.

I want to be clear. My reasoning for saying he wasn't special had nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that they could not play defense until they started blitzing and playing man, which requires the least amount of coaching of any scheme. Any high school DC in the country can call blitzes on 60% of plays and get the same results.

No only the bad ones, I would have loved to had Marcus Freeman here. Would have been my number one choice. The up and
Coming DC from Houston would have been a great hire also, yeah both black. Go ahead and blame race for everything wow this isn’t new. You ppl want to keep a coach with a sketchy resume at best and no long term success.
Y’all wanted him to be the DC based off of 3 damn games. Only reason he was even hired was because O couldn’t con anyone else to take the job. Jones had 4 years of DC experience 13 years ago at D-2 school. Why in the hell do you think he hasn’t been hired as a DC anywhere else? Let me guess no one else except O saw Jones genius Defensive mind. I guess the same holds true for Peetz.
