It has been rumored part of Aranda’s negotiations he wanted to hire a Safeties coach.

I'm curious where all these coaching spots are going to come from to fit Sullivan, safety coach, STs coach, a new OC or a replacement for ensigmer if he is OC, then you add in the possibility of Gilbert and his Oline buddy that he brings everywhere. Someone's gonna get left out in the cold

The rush lber is what Orgeron helps with. Meatball with the dl. Orgeron with rush lber. Aranda lbers. Meatball would only be working with the olbers in responsibilities and techniques when they are more like de

So we would have a DL, OLB ILB CB and safties coach?

That’s just fricking crazy.

If we were really good at ST or had great QBs sure but if we’re adding let’s add a fricking QB or ST coach.

If they are looking at getting a safeties coach they should go after Ron Zook. Cutrently with the Packers and pretty sure he is still coaching special teams. One of the best recruiters around too.

Does any team have a safeties coach?? I’ve never heard of this. I guess there may be assistants to a secondary coach maybe but a “safeties coach” just seems unnecessary. Db responsibilities overlap and so do the cab and safety positions at time based on need. Seems like you would want seamless continuity there with the coaching.

They are t hiring all those guys They have 2 replacement spots and 1 new spot to fill. Safety coach is replacing Jenkins. St coach is taking the new 10th spot.
Canada spot is speculation now. Does ensminger go to oc and Sullivan takes that opening. Do we hire a new oc to take that spot. Or co oc gets hired. Gilbert’s buddy isn’t coming, unless someone else was let go. Sullivan isn’t getting a spot if someone new comes in.

No

We would have a
DL - Meatball
LB - Aranda
CB - Raymond
S - TBD

OLB would be coached by committee - some combination of Aranda, Meatball, and O.

Coach O is pushing for Aranda to promote the water boy that's already on staff.

I would guess it is daronte Jones. He is the asst dB coach. Was at Wisconsin before Miami. Not sure if with aranda.

Oh, wow. Daronte Jones makes a lot more sense than Lou Anarumo. He coached under Aranda for a year and he coached 10 miles down the road from Raymond and probably against each other a couple times.

Rumor is that Aranda was promised he could fill the vacant position on the defensive side of ball with a coach of his choosing and many believe it will be someone to coach safeties and let Raymond focus on the cb’s.

I'm all for Aranda coaching all the linebackers. Now, whether or not we can afford a dedicated safeties coach AND a dedicated cornerbacks coach remains to be seen - and I'm not talking about the money - we need a [expletive deleted] special teams coach like it's nobody's business.

So, if Raymond or the "safeties" coach can also coordinate the ST under this arrangement (including coaching, you know, "kickers", punters, return men, etc.), than I'm all for it. All for it with bells on.

We are getting a dedicated st coach with the addition of the 10th coach. Safety coach is replacing Jenkins.

Okay - fair enough - so the new OC will also coach QBs, then.

(I was kind of hoping we'd squeeze out a dedicated QB coach out of this shake up - I guess that's too much to ask for.)

OLBs need to drop back in coverage sometimes. O will not be teaching that.

I hope they cleared this new safety Coach position with Raymond. Don't need him upset over diminished role. We need to keep him happy and well paid. In fact he should be the highest paid DB Coach in the nation.
