Raymond still on staff and would stay on staff. Rumor is that Aranda was promised he could fill the vacant position on the defensive side of ball with a coach of his choosing and many believe it will be someone to coach safeties and let Raymond focus on the cb’s.

Only rumored name I’ve heard mentioned is the secondary coach for the Dolphins. Can’t think of his name at moment.

It has been rumored part of Aranda’s negotiations he wanted to hire a Safeties coach.

Well we have a defensive back coach who coaches both safeties and cornerback. So the answer to this is Corey Raymond. He is our safeties coach who also coached defensive backs

It’s not unheard of; so you are only laughing at yourself idiot. There are teams that do it. Same way some teams (LSU included) that have multiplie LB’s or DL coaches. LSU runs a lot of 5 and 6 DB looks and safeties have a very different role than CB’s; so it makes sense to have two different coaches to focus on each.

If Dave Aranda wants him on staff you say "thank you, sir"

Yes. But instead of having an OLB coach, it is thought that Aranda wants to hire a coach to assist Raymond with the secondary by focusing on safeties. Aranda would still coach ILB’s and OLB’s some (where he already was helping Meatball) and O and Meatball would still coach the rush OLB position as part of DL.

I highly doubt that meatball in his second full year coaching a position gets put into a situation to coach two positions.
