I’m not ignoring the fact that he’s currently unranked and the 5th or 6th best team in a bad conference.
Or that he lost to Mississippi state this season.

I recognize those things.

ASU was either picked to win the league or make it back to the Big XII CG game by basically every preseason publication this year.

You guys can suck Dillingham's dick without making shite up.

True. But he lost his qb and still has his team playing well. That's the sign of a good coach. Someone who can do more with less.

Utah, Kansas St, BYU, Texas Tech, Iowa St, and and ASU were all bunched from like +600 to +850 preseason to win the league.

I don't know why you're so confident ASU will beat Arizona.

If they've shown anything this year, it's that they at least have to hang on for dear life to win games. And I don't want to hear about injuries when they almost blew a big lead against the walking dead of WVU last weekend.

Brother, they have Jeff Sims playing quarterback. You must not be familiar with his work

I’m not grasping at straws by saying a guy isn’t ready for this caliber of job, when he’s clearly not. Hes a good young coach, but he’s not ready for one of, if not the best job in the country.

There are plenty of better candidates, anyone with an imagination could come up with a list. Yall are such chicken little s outside of a few coaches at the other premier programs - anyone would listen to this job offer and consider it.

That's always the question.

This is a weak arse year for coaching candidates. There is Kiffin and everyone else, too.

If you can't get Kiffin, then who else is there who is way above a Dillingham? I think I like the Morris guy better, but the arguments against are the same thing. Same with Sumrall, the USM guy, etc.

People have bought into this "big game hunting" bullshite and even then, there isn't a long list (ignoring their desire to come here). Once you get past the "no way they leave for another college job" guys (Kirby, Day, DeBoer, Elko, Cignetti, Venables, probably Sark and Freeman), then who is left?

Cristobal? Riley? One of the TX guys (who seem to be waiting for UT to open)?

Like I said if you’re chasing the biggest fish, you don’t have to jump down to Dillingham - there are others that would listen

Active HCs you reach out to and most would listen, maybe all.
Dan Lanning
Clark Lea
Lincoln Riley (not my personal favorite but you at least vet)
Josh Huepel

There are others too that you’d have no clue are interested - we’ve already seen that

Coordinator route? There’s a ton of young elite coordinators from elite coaching trees you could look at

Glenn Schumann - if we’re going young you give this guy an interview, Saban and Kirby coaching tree
Brian Hartline- the most elite recruiter in the country
Kliff Kingsbury - as unlikable as he is, he’s a great offensive mind and a lot of experience

Want some veteran experience?
Todd Monken - he’s seen it done in the SEC and knows what it takes to
Willie Fritz- he’s old but he’s a hell of a coach

There’s unlimited possibilities. These games of name someone else are always so stupid. Like I said outside of maybe 4 schools, anyone could be a candidate.

sucked except for when pavia has been there

Lincoln Riley (not my personal favorite but you at least vet)

ok im fine with that but he hasnt been spectacular at this stop

quote:

Glenn Schumann - if we’re going young you give this guy an interview, Saban and Kirby coaching tree

im ok with that but why does the saban tree matter? his tree doesnt have a huge success rate.

what makes him ready but not Dillingham?

quote:

Brian Hartline- the most elite recruiter in the country

never even called plays until this year and even this year, day has big time influence

what makes him ready but not Dillingham?

quote:

Kliff Kingsbury - as unlikable as he is, he’s a great offensive mind and a lot of experience

oh you mean the guy who was fricking terrible as a HC even with patrick mahomes? the guy with a 35-40 record as HC in CFB? 28-37 in NFL?

yea that guy screams successs

quote:

Want some veteran experience?
Todd Monken - he’s seen it done in the SEC and knows what it takes to

ok fine, but he is old, has never been a HC and has been in the nfl for couple years now and not in CFB for the new NIL portral era

quote:

Willie Fritz- he’s old but he’s a hell of a coach

old AF and has been less successful than dillingham in the same conference

none of the guys you named are better candidates then dillingham except lanning and maybe riley. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
